General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Don't know if its worth it

I watched this video, and sit here wondering if its even worth buying a diesel truck anymore. I know the new chevy and ford are already using urea. Dodge (cummins)met standards. I think if cummins can stay away from the urea, they might become a top seller truck, cause who wants to have to deal with that stuff. I've had alot of problems out of my 2006 dodge, and plan on getting rid of it, but I might just go with another dodge, 6.7, if their good, just to stay away from that urea hassle. Whats your guys and gals thoughts?

I have almost 130k on my 08 without any major issues. I had to have under warranty the EGR valve replaced. It just threw a code because it was sticky. 50k since the valve. I do or have done all regular maintenance per the book. Over all it has been the best ram TD I have owned..

I personally have no desire or need to try my hand with the new trucks. Since I bought the Jeep, I drive the truck less than 10k a year, so I plan on making the old 12v last as long as possible.
