Are you looking for wreckers on the road working or on the lot for sale?
Nat Around here there's as many working Dodge's (V10's and diesels) as any other brand if you don't count the Kenworth and Peterbilts. |
There are a few around here. I've heard of one company haveing frame issues a couple times. They probably didn't know about the considerations when modifying a hydroform frame.

Tons down here
Infact, the two main ones, competion A which will remain nameless runs ford v10's and competition B, runs 24 and 12V dodge wreckers in 3/4 and one ton, the v10s are 450s... Tx |

Good question thumper. Why is dodge such a non-factor in the commercial market?? Ford totally dominates.
|
Thats the problem-why??...maybe the roll backs dont fit on??

Hmmmm,,,,,,Deja Vu.....[eyecrazy] [laugh]

Simple answer:
Ford low-balls the fleet pricing on the commercial market. That's why you see so many of them for businesses and local governments. Ford uses the commercial market as a near loss-leader, so they can continue to claim year after year that they are the "#1 selling" truck. Very few businesses can afford the premium that a Dodge or GM would set you back relative to the Ford. Most Dodge CTDs in service were bought used and converted. Some were bought new, but not as many as you may think. The other reason Ford dominates is that Dodge has simply ignored the commercial market. No CTD 4500 or 5500. Realistically, Ford *is* the commercial market, as the GM medium-duty trucks just don't seem to have much traction in the market. jlh |
