Hi everyone. Does anyone know if wires are found underneath the carpet between the center front seat to center fold out cup holders where the center hump is located? I drilled two holes for mounting my cb radio and afterwards my air bag light comes on. So I'm wondering if spliced into a wire. Very concern... Any feedback would be great.

 

Not certain but I think there is a sensor in the seats now that works with the airbag system so it only deploys when an adult is seated in the seat. A child safety thing I am willing to bet

So there is indeed a good possibility that there are some wires running through that area.

Thanks for your reply. I just got done pulling the carpet back and guess what, there is a wire lume and a 1 inch air duct that runs dead center. I spliced one wire when I was drilling a hole. I soldier the wire and heat srinked it. Air bag light is off now. Lesson learned.... I relocated my cb radio underneath the passengers glove box including the wires. FYI: if you plan to mount something on the bottom center hump, pull the carpet back and find a spot with no obstacles. There are spot where you can mount on the sides of the center hump and it's raw metal.
