It looks to me like Ford is hurting the economy going further in debt and increasing the amount creditors will have to write off . Of course if Ford closed the gay community would lose out on hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions each year .

The 6.0 hurt themselves with the F-250 & F-350. Toyota is hurting their F-150 sales. I would really like to see the 6.4 turn out to be a success otherwise it will end up being just cummins and duramax competing in this market, I don't think toyota is going to have near the success in this market as they have had with their tundra to date.

3500lly,

I hope your right about the Toyota thing, but i see more and more Tundras that keep defying the "Brand Loyalty" idea.

If they ever make a real truck (1 ton)to compete with the big 3 there in trouble IMO. People are tried of dropping 40K and having a broke down doo bucket the dealer cant even get back on the road and has an attitude of what do you want from us?. To me it seems suggesting DC`s sales are good cause they beat Ford isnt saying much considering where their at currently, it goes way beyond their 6.0 nightmare and the 150 as the supposed best seller. So who does own the stocks? The jeep TJ I just bought is been somewhat problem prone I`ll say, everytime I go to the local Heep dealer for more parts there stamped either made in Mexico or Tiwian. So whos benefiting here, the USA? I doubt it. At least the wifes Toyota and parts are made here or in Japan.

Ford's Management did it to themselves. They had a major problem (the 6.0) but they stuck their heads in the corporate sands and refused to see it. Now they're paying the price. I had a Powerstroke and now I'm in a Ram.

Still, as of the end of 2005 (final figures for 2006 are not in yet) Ford still managed to sell more diesel pickups than Dodge or GM combined (J.D. Powers data) and I hope they get back on their feet. Competition is good. It only makes these trucks better. I can't wait to see how the new heavy-duty diesel Toyota will stack up against Ford, Dodge and GM.

ford and GM are saddled with those high health care costs(older workers that have been there for 30+years etc),i think ford said something to the tune of 1200 bucks per car was for healthcare.so right there they are at a disadvantage.they have to shop in mexico etc for cheaper labor.whereas toyota hasn't had plants here all that long.so they can afford to build here.i believe all the japanese makers have plants here don't they??

Who cares? If Ford had a Cummins in it I'd buy one.

Well now you know.

Research it.... I think they knew exactly what they were sponsoring..... each and every time they did it. I just don't think they expected the ramifications. It's a shame... but, Oh well.......

They used to be different trucks...as recently as the late 60's early 70's...there had more complete welds, heavy duty components...etc... but alas now they're just a Chevy with a different grill/trim...

I got a friend who has an 01 F-350 with the 7.3 in it. Truck has over 200,000 on it and all he has done is replace the water pump and alternator. I love my cummins but Ford screwed up going with the 6.0.
