Ladies and gentlemen....that would be a Duramax. Top, middle, back mounted turbo. Front oil dipstick. Those charge air pipes, and the beautiful gray coolant tube in the front. I've seen more than I want to in my life.

For the Turbo Buick folks who are worried that this guy has ruined a GN or GNX its not a real one, its a clone!

WOW!! That is grat. I love GN/GNX's to begin with, but a clone with a diesel is just amazingly cool!

I remember a rumor that the Corvette team put pressure on the top brass at GM to kill it (1988?) because they could spank a stock 'Vette (as long as it was going in a straight line) and do it with 25% fewer cylinders. I've always wanted one...

I heard that also. Funny how a turbo can kick the "no replacement for displacement" crowd right in the butt? Those remind me of the Typhoon or the Syclones that GM made. I bet more than a few people said "hey you can beat him, it's just a Chevy Blazer". If you check autotrader those are still worth a fortune.

After seeing a D-Max sitting on an engine stand I can't see why you couldn't put it in ANY vehicle that had a V8 at one time. A D-Max powered Deville with twin turbos, twin Cp3's, an a mean EFILive tune....... now that would be a sleeper. "hey grandma, can I borrow your car?"

saw the video but its nothing special, just it idling, moving and a short drive on the street at less than 1/4 throttle.

Yep, its basically the same size as any other GM big block, and only weighs a little more...hopefully we might see some other cool swaps this summer...
