Lance , you will be fine with the C range for a what you are doing. Tires are like elevators they have a huge safety margin built in . Just remember not to speed and corner hard. drive safe. Used E range might think about that. I pay about 20bucks each at used tire shops for use on my trailers.

You wouldn't think 4 tires would make that much difference, compared to the weight of the truck.

its not the weight, its the size. I have to pay for anything over 20 measurement tons, and if I can drop the height by 5 or 6 inches, that will knock a lot off. plus it won't be as wide either.

can you put the small ones on to drive it to the ship and away from the ship but put your good tires in the bed? Just thinking out loud here.....

I think you will be fine on the load range C tires for what you are doing.... I would not go far fast or hard with them but they will get the job done temporarily.

Park the truck 'till you get the right tires.
It is like saying I don't need my seatbelt as I am only going to the corner store.
An incident can happen in a "little while".
I am not trying to be a snot here...just giving my opinion and hope you stay safe.
The potential alternatives, not worth the grief.

It depends on the size of tire what the load rating is. I don't know about C rated for sure, but there are large D rated tires out there which have higher weight capacities than smaller E rated tires. Side wall stiffness can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer for any given size.

Guys if you're not towing the C rated tires will work. I ran some LTX's for 20000 miles that were C rated my Dad put 55000 miles on a set of C rated LTX's. And I'm not sure about the Durango but my Yukon came with C rated tires as did my 1500 Ram and all other 1/2 ton vehicles. I got rid of my C tires when I started pulling and went with a E rated tire. The hardest thing on a 6 ply tire on trucks like ours is the low speed turning in parking lots and such splitting the tread. As far as being at fault in an accident if you are not overloading that tire it doesn't matter what rating they are, that would be like blaming you for running a 245/75 instead of the 265/75 that came on the truck?
