Broke down in Canada.
Broke down in Canada.
As things do happen at the worst time, here is my latest one.
It's Sunday at 5PM just south of the Innisfail, AB exit. my Belt tensioner craps out on me and take the serpentine belt too. I was able to get it to a small shopping mall just off the highway. I shut the truck down to save what battery I had left. Walked to the A&W to find a phone book to see if NAPA was still open. I got the number to NAPA and called, it was closed.
Then the best thing that could happen did. A man named Larry came up to me and gave me the home number to Kevin a local shop owner of Specialty Automotive repairs LTD in Innisfail. It took a little while and Kevin call me back. We discussed what had happen and agreed that it could wait until in the morning to get new parts.
Shortly after 8 AM Kevin sent a tech over to do a quick check on the truck and the part were sent for. Kevin show up later with the parts and was going to fix it right there in the parking lot, but with the first snow of the year falling we choose to jump the truck and build the battery up and move the truck to his shop. In 30 mins the truck was up and running and ready to go. Kevin did not charge me for the extra things he did, I only lost 4 hours on my delivery time.
I recommend Specialty Automotive repairs LTD in Innisfail, Alberta.
Their Phone number is 403-227-2424 Kevin is one of the good guys.
Thanks again Kevin.

Chances are if you had made a quick post on the Alberta forum of this board, at least one of the members would have helped in one form or another.
I myself live only about 30 minutes from Innisfail. A lot of the Alberta members live close to or along the Number 2 Highway corridor between Edmonton and Calgary.
There are still quite a few good people out here. Glad you got it going and didn't lose much in the way of time.
