Are the "Big 3" in Mexico mislabeling pickups?
The mislabeling is in a person's head. Just cause YOU think a 1500 or 2500 or something should mean something doesn't mean everyone does.
I personally think a 3500 should have a stronger frame and such than a 2500 Dodge. But you know what? They have the same frame, same brakes, same this, same that. The reality is that dual wheels and a precious few other things actually separate a 3500 from a 2500.
And the number doesn't stand for anything. It doesn't matter whether you call it a 100 or 200, 250 or 2500. A GVWR is a GVWR and a model name is a model name-- and the two are completely separate. Any connection between them is in a person's mind. Perhaps there was once an element of relationship of capacity to model (i.e., a half ton actually held 1000 lbs.) but those days are long gone, and won't return regardless of how indignant a person may become that they OUGHT to correlate.
