Which of the "Big 3" 3/4 and 1 ton diesels is most popular where you live?
Its hard to say, but probably Dodge. Generally speaking, Dodges are popular among the farm/ranch work crowd, while Ford powerchokes pickups are usually of the crew cab short bed variety and are driven by town people. Ford used to be very popular but the 6.0 nightmare, along with the much better pricing of the Dodge, made it popular. The 3rd gen bodystyle has sold very well around here. There are more GM D-max pickups around all of the time, but they haven't really caught on yet. However, GM is probably the most popular HD gasoline pickup around here.
Dodge and Ford are pretty equal here. Dodge probably has the edge by a small margin. Hardly any Duramaxes. Lots of chevy gassers, but on a given day I may see a couple d-max. Kinda weird because the nearest Dodge dealership is 40 miles away and there are ford and chevy dealerships in town. Seems like the deer hunters like the duramaxes though, always see alot more around during hunting season.
Voted Ford and I do think there are more (especially older 7.3 trucks).
Dodge runs a fairly close second, and cattle and hotshot guys are usually in them.
Not as many Duramax by a long shot.
Posers are almost always in Fords.
Hunters seem to favor Chebby.
The vast majority of Dodges seen are third and second gen.
The newest Fords and Chebbys are BUTT UGLY!

at home, ford, by far and away. Im not going to make any lame excuses (well our town is full of soccer moms, so DUH obviously theres the most fords because thats all fords are good for blah blah blah), thats just the way it is. Dodge's just barely second and chevy's third.
Up at school (the REAL upstate NY, 25 mins from canada), 95% of ALL trucks, gas and diesel, are GM. Most likely because of the GM mfg plant in upstate NY, and thats one of the only main opportunities for employment in the desolate north country....

I see a few new Duramax trucks running around town. The new 08 Superduty's must not be selling well in my area, you just don't see them. But their are 6.0's parked all over the roads.
I live in a Navy town with a high concentration of weapons research engineers, and alot of urban cowboys, they all seem to be driving Dodge gasser's or white fourdoor shortbed stock height F-250's, There are quite a few 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen Dodges around, but the numbers are stacked in fords favor. I hardly ever see Chevy diesels, lot of gassers though. Construction guys around here only drive ford diesels or chevy gassers, don't know why. I see lots of F.O.R.D. 's (found on road dead)because of the high numbers though!
Duracraps I'd say, but its hard for me to say exactly. I live in big time farm country so all three are real close, but if I had to put'em in order I think I'd say Duracraps, Powerjokes, and then Cummins... again real close to each other.
Hard to say. I would have to say, Ford, Chevy, then Dodge. Two big Chevy and Ford dealers here. You will hardly ever find a used Dodge around here. Once people buy one they never let it go. I am starting to see more Dodges though.
Okay, for the last hour or so I was in my truck I kept a pretty good count.
There is no easy way to know if any Chebby/GMC you see has a diesel or not.
You can probably bet that most of the Rams do, and a goodly portion of the Ferds.
Ferd and Dodge came out almost neck and neck. Almost anything flatbed or utility body is Ferd. Many goose neck flat bed trailers are pulled by Dodges.
Plenty of duallys in both Ferd and Dodge. Also plenty of cab light 350s and 3500s.
Chebby and GMC even being fairly liberal, came in a way distant third! And not a lot of dually represented at all.
