Just wonding if anyone has any experience with the 3.9 ISB engine. It sounds like all of the awesome things about the Cummins 3.9 4BT but quiet and modern and smooth, I believe like the new ISB 5.9L's - anyone driven one or have experience with one? I would love one of these for a potential swap, if they weren't so **** expensive...

 

They're noisier and rock a bit. I've got one installed in my Shammy, but it's strictly a troller and just sips fuel. Get a re-built one if the price of new is higher than you wanted to pay.

If you get one , be sure you get one with the counter balancers installed already, they are a good motor , they have the VP30 bosch pumps.

I am a mobile crane mechanic. I have 2 grove cranes and 2 lorain cranes with the 3.9l B. good engine, kinda noisy but no problems.
