Anti sieze or not, that is the question?
when changing ball joints, u joints and other metal to metal parts, do you use anti seize on them or not? which parts do you use anti seize on?
Nope, I never do because I don't want them moving around or even thinking about it.
Only time I use anti-seize is when two dissimilar metals will be in contact (example, a stainless steel bolt going into an aluminum bracket), or when specifically called for in the installation instructions.
We only use anti-seize on threads and and anything with a loose fit that has to come apart or move.
On press fits like ball joints and u-joints we usually hit them with some light oil to help them go together easier. Anti-seize is a waste here because the press fit wipes it off. |
I use it on exhaust bolts.
the only place i have used it on my truck is on the back side of the wheel bearing assembly , so it comes out easier next time.
