this morning i woke up to test drive that black '97 ram. When i got there it looked beutiful. I asked to go drive it and she gave me they keys. It also has that keyless entry.....anyway, the exterior is nearly mint, with only a small scratch on the tailgate. it has whet looks like brand new BFG A/T's (33's?) and american racing wheels. it also has dual exhaust with the muffler delete and huge nice chrome tips that blow nice and dark when i revved it. The bed was immaculate and the only rust a found was on the bottom of the door jamb. that rust was only surface rust and will be VERY easy to repair. Under the hood the engine just sparkled and looked show quality. the interior is as nice as the exterior. it has tan leather seats and a wood grain dash. it also has the factory CD player with infinity speakers. there was not ONE single blemish on the interior of the truck. the transmission/clutch were very smooth and confident. the steering was great as well. It went very straight down the road and has no pullng to one side or the other when the brakes were applied. this truck had been taken care of VERY WELL and is definitly worth $16,200. I went and showed it to my mom and she agreed that it would be a GREAT truck for me. All we need to do is talk to my dad about it and hopefully have it tomorrow. The only downside is that there has already been 3 people that are very serious about it (excluding me) ad more were going to look at it today. They said they would take it down to $15,500 for me and that seems good. WISH ME LUCK ON GETTING IT TOMORROW!!!!! this truck is nearly MINT.

Sounds like a good find.....One important thing to ask about is maintenance...do they have mainteenance records? and can you confirm that Fleetguard/Mopar oil filters were used??

Good luck.

tell him that its got heavy duty parts that rarely need to be replaced, is extremely reliable, will last for many many more miles (some trucks have gone 500k+ miles), and has a really good resale valve (much better than ANY gas truck or car). Plus its got the best diesel engine put in any pickup.

My Dad was always dead set againt a diesel and a 4X4 - my truck has both

Hey redneck, where you from? Im from the Mason City/Clear Lake area. Heartland is a sticker of a dealer. THey dont budge. And when you see the quality of the vechiles, youll be a lil skittish. I test drove(shoulda bought anyway) a 98 12v 5spd. But at the time i wanted the 24v. But none hte less. They arnt he best dealer to work with. Never did buy anything from them. They had a 99 4x4 supercrew powerstroker, had 283k and they still wanted 16 for it. IM like yeah thats right you try to get that.

So take it as you want. HOpe your not driving a long ways
