2003 LB7 Duramax Juice help

FIL has a LB7 with a Juice/Attitude. The EGT's run normal in drive and cruising down the road, accelration, etc. When he comes to a stop and puts the trans into neutral the EGT climbs to 1200 but the motor doesn't seem to get that hot. Any ideas? I'm sure it's nothing but don't know how these systems react when an injector is going/gone out. Is the thermocouple in need of replacement? Thanks.

Sounds like either a thermocouple issue or possibly an Edge issue.

That's what I'm thinking. He's going to bring the truck by tonight and let me take a look at it. New probe is $30 so that's more than likely where I'll start as long as I don't determine anything else could be wrong.

Where is the thermocouple located at? My buddy installed an Edge in his '04, and because of thier variable pitch turbo vanes, he put his after the turbo. Maybe, if the probe is in front of the turbo, is reads higher, b/c the vanes are closed up some, and holding in more heat?

It's right at the collector on the manifold pre turbo on the passenger side where Edge details it to go in their instructions. I installed it for him. It has worked great for 7 years now but just this week it started acting up. I think the thermocouple is just giving up the ghost is all. I haven't looked it over yet as he didn't make it over last night. I'll check it this weekend for sure.
