1994 F-700 Dually Pickup?
I found the same truck advertised in another town and the seller stated it's a Ford 350 cab and box mated onto a F-700 truck. Maybe it is cobbed? I don't think driving a lumber truck would be allot of fun? And I wouldn't want to be right back to 8 mpg. like I am with my EFI 460.
Maybe I should forget it. Heck a big Kenworth or Peterbuilt with a pickup body mounted on it would probably be a great hauler.
Maybe I (we) will learn more?

Here is the Ad and picture posted in another town. These are the words of the Ad. I'm not really in the know ...so does that mean all dually pickups with four wheel drive aren't really 4x4 but 6x6 because they have six wheels driving? You bring up a good point that I never thought of in that way.
Can you tell from this view how the pickup was made? It looks to me from the picture that there would be plenty of clearance for a front drive axle?

Sorta looks like it's a F-350 on steroids.
Too bad it can't be made to drive like a F-1 ton with all the reliability and great fuel mileage of a 5.9 Cummins. Or could it?
Is that a good ratio in the rear end for open hwy towing? Wouldn't it lend itself toward fairly good mileage? Is 3.42 the highest? I wonder if a guy could trick the cab out to be sorta luxurious, well not luxurious but like in a Lariat or King Ranch or the Dodge Big Horn?
Maybe somebody that knows T-cases would have an idea if one could be mated up?

Older trucks like that did come in a crew cab configuration, so it could be the factory cab for that truck. If you want it to ride like a caddy, you could look into going air bags all they way around. Would be pricey though. If you do go 4x4, I don't see why you couldn't find a divorced transfer case. Then just fab a crossmember to support it. You're not gonna get the mileage of a pickup in that thing, but I would think you would get better than 8 like your 460 is getting you.
The p-pump is an inline pump, all the injection lines are in a single row on the top. The VE/VP pumps are a rotary pump, with all the injection lines in a circular pattern. You can see the pump in the pic with the hood up, has 6 lines coming out of it, just ahead of where the cold air charge pipe comes into the engine.

Would anyone like to throw out what they think would be a reasonable offer to make on that truck if one was so inclined? I know the asking price but would rather just have folks feeling on this? Lets just say the truck is as represented. That way I can get an idea compared to what the owner is asking.
set up on this looks alot like my Kodiak, We used the Kodiak frame, windshield and firewall then did a windshield cut and used a crewcab 1 ton body, (is the truck on my avatar) still rides like a 2ton, but gets lots of attention on the road...

I would like to warmly thank everyone who contributed while I was looking for a diesel truck on this thread. I appreciate both the time and knowledge you shared.
I bought me a used pickup last week and though I'm elated it's a little bitter sweet. I was contemplating several options and the one I went with was the most financial sound for me and my situation.
I bought a used 2000 SuperDuty, SuperCab (9 years old, 101,XXX miles) F-350 XLT dually, 7.3L PSI. It's in beautiful shape and came with many aftermarket add ons and options I probably wouldn't have been able to afford.
Before I get flamed for buying a 7.3L PSI I will state straight up...I know it isn't as good a diesel as a Cummins nor will it be. If it last me it will be the engine that lasts the rest of my life. If not My F-350 will become a 5.9 12v, Cummins. Then I will have a Fummins.
It has four-wheel drive, and it came equipped with a 60 HP Superchip and tuner, it has been refitted with stainless steel four inch exhaust with chrome turn down, it has a BD Powers exhaust brake with a shift mounted switch on the six speed manual with fresh rebuilt clutch. It came with a 17,000 LB. capacity B&W Gooseneck that reverses and flips flat for storage. It has a Speedliner sprayed in bed liner. The mounts are all there to tie down my camper. It has a double reciver hitch with the outrigger reciever(if needed) it has a Stomberg Carlson louvered fifthwheel tail gate (plus I have the stock tail gate). It has the really nice aftermarket stainless steel wheel well liners, and some really great custom running boards ( i love em'), and hood bug guard.
Really there's more I can't remember off the top of my head but on top of it all it looks and drives as if it was driven off the showroom in 2000, and parked away until today and brought out. It's immaculate inside and out.
Best of all was the price...I would never have been able to afford this truck or one like it normally. If you would like to see it and comment you may go here. Don't be put off by the first pic, thats the stock chip and SuperChip tuner I found under the seat when I brought it home.
If not too turned off by my purchase you can see it here.

Nice looking truck. Even though you bought a Ford, it is one of their best ones. One of the last years for the 7.3L and you got a 6spd. I like it, personally would want a different color, but still a sharp looking truck.
Congrats,

Thanks guys, and "Always" you've got to be one of the best "Scroungers" I know. Thanks, but I hope it's quite awhile before the need comes up.
However by posting you never know who might be watching... that needs just such an item. Maybe someone will PM you for the link?
How much for the CL flexplate, do you remember? I think Destroked was selling in the neighborhood $ 800 + , or so. However their's you didn't need to reset tranny clearance or some such thing.

I'd be concerned about the height of the bed if you were pulling a 5th wheel. Really, that thing is way overkill, I don't think there are many if any RVs that were meant to be pulled only by something bigger than 1 ton truck.
