03 fourth gen?

In diesel world mag pg 62 there is an article called "being Fuelish" it refers to the gen 2 from '94-'98, gen 3 from '98-'02, gen 4 '03 to present.? I thought the generations pretty much followed the body style changes until the post jan '07s.

they were probably basing that on the motors instead of the truck body styles, if you want to get technical, the late model 98's were very different from the early model 98's, different interiors, sports had different grills and bumpers, different tranny and t-case shifter.
