Diesel is down today by 20 cents in my area... Not good at 4.93, but was as high as 5.27 over the weekend!

oil prices are down and the fuel prices here seem to be stuck. I have yet to see any stations lower their prices. Having to get fuel today......probably $4.59 or so at the WallyMart.

Our price dropped 10 cents a gallon several days ago to $4.58. Once the report came out on May 30, 2008 about the 6 month old investigation in to oil prices it sure dropped the crude oil price some and diesel prices too. I read one post yesterday of diesel going down 16 cents in Sacramento CA.

there's one station (the one i usually fuel up at) that has kept a steady 4.59, but most of the others are continuing to rise. how???? why???? i have no clue how lower oil prices can bring about higher fuel prices.

The local Wal-Mart has been consistently 20 to 30 cents cheaper for diesel than most stations in town. They are the only ones that I have seen go up and down with the crude prices. Everybody badmouths Wal-Mart... how about the other stations that rape you on diesel more than we already are? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the little guy but when they're consistently that much higher it doesn't sit too well.

Maybe Wal-Mart should start their own drilling company... $75/barrel crude here we come!!

In my area unless Walmart diesel is more then 20 cents a gallon cheaper it pays for me to buy the higher priced fuel. I get no less then 1 mpg better from the higher priced premium gold diesel compared to the cheap Walmart fuel. The only true way to know what fuel to buy is to do fuel mileage test to see what fuel gives you the best mpg for the least amount of $$$.

That is the 64K question as to Why any of this BS is going on. Oh we best enjoy the prices we have now as I read that oil is on the way back up to the $130.00 range today! I have not read any reason that oil should of jumped around $4.50 per barrel. The only reason I can think of is GREED, GREED and more GREED and

What is and where do you find something that is marketed as superior to plain old ULSD #2? What makes wally world fuel a cheaper grade of ULSD #2?

Greed is only possible when there are buyers. As for why the futures price is not reflected in the same day correction of the price at the pump is the price in the news is what the oil will sell at at a point in the future, typically 4 to 8 weeks out. This oil at this price must then be processed, add another couple of weeks for shipping, processing and deliver to the local station and you could see a 10 week lag in the drop in futures price to when it actually makes an impact at the pump.

Guys you all are looking at this under a microscope and should be looking at it as a panoramic view of the horizon. It would help your blood pressure.

i think (and this is only my opinion) that the big oil companies indirectley controll the price of diesel and gas by the whole supply and demand theory. i think it might go something like this...... the price of oil drops so to keep making their big bucks at the pump all they have to do is DECREASE the supply thus driving up the cost at the pump or in some cases the price stays the same even though the initial cost per barrel has dropped. just an idea as i'm not in the oil business..... hope this makes sense

One other point to consider before you get your blood pressure up is this. Just for a moment pretend you own a gas station. Your ground tanks are about 1/2 full and today you hear that the price of gas will go down. Who would run out and lower the price they charge. Or even if you did order a couple of tanker trucks to top off the ground tanks at a lower price, when would you lower it at your pumps. Just some thoughts .

When I first started using gold plus diesel I did not know much about it. But I did notice I got better fuel mileage when I used it compared to diesel from Walmart. In the winter time I see between 1.25-2 mpg better fuel mileage with the higher priced Arctic winterized fuel compared to Walmart's 70/30 winter mixed diesel.

Below is the URL to info on the diesel I buy. IIRC there has only been 5-6 times in the last 3 years that Walmart diesel was 13-22 cents per gallon cheaper then gold diesel. Most of the time Walmart is either the same price as where I buy or between 2 and 6 cents cheaper per gallon.
