number 1 or number 2 diesel..??

number 1 or number 2 diesel..??

So I have heard that a local staion is selling #1 for less than #2. What's the diff??

#1 (winter diesel) has less energy content (BTU/gallon), a lower viscosity and a lower cloud (gel temperature) point.

how come not very many people sell #1?

so with less btu's i bet your fuel mileage will go down alot with #1 huh?

Yep; it's essentially kerosene.

Now, if you can find a station that sells #'s 3, 4 or 5, let me know.

2005--Ole JIM here! as You read my HELP post you know I*M not Up on the smaller Diesel truck Engines? bt as a retired Trucker hers the Differance between so called #1 & #2 Diesel Fuel #1 is #2 diesel cut by adding 40% Kerosine--for Cold weather Anti Jell purposes! & # 2 Diesel is the same as Home heating FUEL & the differnce between #2 home heating Fuel & over the Road Trucks in the OIL Cos Add coloring-some Pink ish Red-Redish or Blue & the GOVT TAX on the over the Road FUEL here they have Signs--Highway & OFF Road the Highway Fuel is Straw colored all most Clear! & the OFF road Fuel is Colored--as mentioned above! & any ONE CAUGHT driving on the HIGHWAY w/ Colored Fuel in their TANK! Are FINED $100.00 per Gallon of their Total Fuel Capacity! --Ole JIM--
