I am taking a trip down to Cal. from Alberta. Everytime I go the car pings when I fuel in Cal. I am forced to burn Premium in my type of vehicle. What is the best fuel/octane ratings in the US? Also I don't understand the fuel pricing in the states at all. One station right across the street from another can be 20-30 cents cheaper? In Canada the more expensive guy would be out of business and the cheaper guy would have a line from here to Texas!! Looking for a brand name station to fuel at - thanks.

Most of the big truck like Union 76, TSA, Flying J, Pilot stops will have good quality diesel fuel.
