Cries on mileage and safety

Alright to you that are getting 10 mpg out of your diesel truck i would cry too. But those in the 15-18 range and crying be happy. Atleast after driving other vechiles of recent i would be. My truck gets an average of 19mpg, not the best but not the worst. Its scales out at 7800 lbs with me normal gear and lil over 1/2 tank of fuel. Its a 4x4 and fairly tall. Ive smacked a deer going 80 ( midsized doe but still) and just tweeked the bumper and cracked a plastic grille which you wouldnt know if the chrome tape didnt bubble.

Recently acquired a 95 grand prix v6, only gets 25 mpg, and my neighbor just hit a deer similar size with it this week while i was gone. * yeah i was a lil like what the who haw but its all good* took out the hood fenders bumpers head lamp, grille, and thats all that i can see from looking at it.

Point to my well not rant is your trucks only getting the 18-20 might stink but its alla bout safety. after seeing this i know ill take the family trips in the truck alone. not but a few weeks ago diesel was cheeper than gas again, but gas dropped do to consumer complaints and i diesel didnt, dunno why.

I believe my next purchase for a family car if i want good mileage will be a excursion or some late ninties surburban. As my moms town and country only gets 22 mpg

I agree with you 100%. At one time that is the only thing we would take on a trip would be the GMC 3500 crewcab with brushgaurd and pushbar on the front. One night some drunk * in a tird F150 decided to cut me off at 70 mph. (posted speed limit) He clipped the front of my truck, spun around 3 lanes hit the barrier wall and left crap all over the interstate. My truck never budged an inch. Somehow he managed to take off and I pulled over not knowing what damage was done. The only damage on mine was a small dent in the factory chrome bumper. We now have 2 trucks in the fleet. GMC traded for CTD. See sig. Please no flaming about having a gasser at least it is a DODGE.
