$4 A Gallon By Spring?

just heard a report from an oil industry 'expert', who says fuel prices will reach $4 a gallon by may. he pointed to the usual refinery limitations, demand from china, and global unrest, and said the industry 'insiders' don't forsee prices dropping back down to the $3 level until fall.

trucks will stop driving **** around the country soon.

That part about China's demand is a bunch of huooy!!!they have deals cut with every middle east country for oil. they are purposefully pushing up the prices.
This fuel price stuff ticks me off more than the race for the prez.

We are only 43 cents off here. It sucks.

it's interesting that there's another round of price hikes, right after a court ordered exxon to pay around $3 billion in punitive damages for the exxon valdez tanker spill. after 20 years, they are just finishing up the litigation- they also had to pay around $5 billion in actual damages.

It's $3.65 here. I say the whole country stays home for a week. Vacation at the house. No driving period.

Diesel hit $4.00/gl. here last week in Long Island, New York. This week it's down to $3.89/gl.

I took on 60/gal. of fuel last week at $3.259/gal. I am very happy I did, because the price is up by another 25 cents today.

Hondo 02-27-2008 09:46 PM

I filled up last week @ $3.59 just went past a station the cheapest around and saw that it was $3.75! No doubt it will be $4 plus this summer. They will keep taking it up till people stop driving.

My truck ran from 7:30am until 9:00 pm and it cost me a little over $260 today, $3.59 a gallon [yuk]
How is it that gasoline hit a record 14 year supply the other day and it was also close to a record price. What happened to supply and demand??

joshworthy21 02-27-2008 10:06 PM

Here in Fort Worth it's anywhere between $3.59 and $3.69 and the Sunday before last i got fuel for $3.18 a gallon I'm not sure if it will even make it to spring before it hits $4.00:(

Diesel went up almost .40 now i am payin around $3.59/gal which is crazy but thank god for my good milage, 18 city 23 highway, Time to go back to the gasser in my sig. Diesel should only cost $1 as far as i am concerned, it is a bi-product for gosh sake. I have to drive a minimum of 50 miles a day and they add up quick some days i will do 120 miles and being 18 years old and still full time at school i work everyday except sundays when i have time and it is gettin to the point i caunt barely pay for diesel much less all my other bills.
