de-stroked has the kits to do it. need a stand alone computer to run the tranny.

heres a scenario to ponder

built allison with converter $8000
stand alone computer to run it $1000
conversion kit $750

so just to start you are at $9750 and NO labor OR driveshafts.

put that money into a built 48re and save a ton of money

UNLESS..... you are only going stock and don't need the built stuff

Well I picked up a 5 speed with 261 manual transfercase for 900 I called a name brand diesel performance shop and for around 3700 they said they could send me a stage 3 kit with 5 star torque converter and I could rebuild it myself, doesn't seem like too many specialized tools are needed either.
I priced the standalone self programable unit around 1500, then I need to price adapters, driveshaft mods, shifter don't know how to go about shifting it yet I thought about a lokar style, any ideas?
