What do I need to pull?

I was wanting to start entering my truck into some local truck pulls. The drivetrain on my truck is all stock except for my HP mods(check my sig). What all do I need to do to my truck so I can pull safely without breaking anything? Also give me some techniques for taking off and pulling with my 5-speed. And maybe some techniques for drag racing a little bit. Thanks for the help.

Probably an 1 3/8" input shaft for that 5-speed along with the above mentioned dual disk clutch. A good strong turbo as well. Possibly an HTT sledpuller 66. With a DD clutch lighting off a bigger charger is pretty easy.

If you are doing it for fun, Take off in first gear HI range and rev your engine to about 1500-1700 slowly let the clutch engauge until you start to build some boost and start letting it out once fully engauge I think you can figure the rest. IF you start bouncing dont be afraid to let off when you quit bouncing floor it again as long as you didn't let off to much it will take off again. If your clutch starts to slip at the end just let off so you don't have to walk home sure you won't win against a high dollar truck but its good experiance and so dam fun!!! I ran my 2000 like this and never broke anything. If you are going to be serious about it then you need like what the other guys said traction bars, DD clutch ect ect.

Some type of hitch. If you're only doing this for fun a big D-ring would probably work for you. If you really get into it it might start looking at adjustable pulling hitches like the one EEP makes. Makes usre it's no more than 27" high.
