I went hunting today, I called my wife in the afternoon who tells me she's at the peanut fest Truck Pull. who do you have to know to find out about these things? does anyone know who or if any diesel trucks were there?

I saw a bunch of deer last night and this morning...of course, on the side of the field where I wasn't.

I did shoot at a nice doe this evening, but I fear she got away to die. I think the arrow went in and hit the opposite side shoulder blade it was a quartering away shot at about 40 yds. Where she was standing, if I had missed, the arrow would have plowed into the small ridge she was on. Bow has plenty of power at that range to make a kill tho. Didn't find the deer OR the arrow OR any blood I know I hit her by the way she reacted. I hate for that to happen (I'd have rather missed), but I guess it happens to all hunters sooner or later, and I couldn't stay up to look for her tomorrow.

 

I dont know who, if any diesels, pulled down there! I heard about it last year but was told that it was invitation only? I dont know if that is true or not, but that is why i didnt even check on it this year!!! Their loss....the diesels bring in alot of people. Are you gonna pull at virginia motorsports park or in Newland??? I havent decided yet

I was out there in like 2002 for the peanut festival, they had a demo derby, but no truck pull. Mabye things got better!

 

Yes they definetly had a pull but it may have been just National trucks.

Not sure what I am doing yet, I still havent got the head on so it could be another hunt day

 

JD, I live in Suffolk... I was gonna pull but my boy who pulls with me called me and told me it was just the big boys pulling... they didnt have enough time alotted for another class. So, hopefully that makes you feel better! Dam I wanted to pull for the hometown!

 

it was no big deal for me really because my truck is still broke, thanks for the info.
