My Truck V. F-350 V-10

So I was chair racing tonight with my superviser and he said thatr his stock V-10 DRW would pull my CTD around all day. I even said race Pinks for it. Well he has stock tires all around and I have 35" BFG's. I would have to say my only diadvantage would be traction. I know I have him killed in the HP/TQ. What do y'all think would happen?

u have a manual...4.10 gears...and ur sitting higher up...i think with that combo ud pull him around all day even if u had a gasser!....now add in the immediate off idle torque of the cummins and i think u'll have him spinning wheels before he even gets to 2000rpms

I'd go pinks on that too. Unless you die at the wheel there is no chance he will win.

How can you have the traction disadvantage if you're on 35x12.5" tires and have 4x4?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.... and what's the worst is that it would be a gasser!

You could have 5,000 ft lb torque off idle, but if he has better traction, you would lose, plain and simple! Setting higher only helps if you hook short enough to pull down on the rear of your truck.

I sure wouldn't tug for pink slips. You have a 50-50 chance of winning and losing. But hey, it's your truck you may be giving up, not mine, so go for it!

How does he have better traction on stock tires than you on 35's. I say go for it you'll stomp him.

dont do pinks with him...even if u win those v10 fords don't resell very well...at least not up here they don't...no one drives superduty gassers up here...ive seen a 2004 v10 ford sell for under 10 000$

I'd but a V10 ford before i'd buy one with a PSD , being a gasser with a lower price makes it an even cheaper 8.3L conversion...

As much as I hate to admit this...last summer at our county fair they had a sled on hand for the old time tractor pullers and decided to have a pickup pull at the fair on the last day. Well there were six 3/4 ton pickups in the stock class: 1 7.3 powerstroke, 2 6.0 powerstrokes, 2 v-10 fords, and 1 brand new 2500 Cummins. Results were, 1st place v-10 ford, 2nd place v-10 ford, 3rd place CTD, 4th place 6.0 PS, 5th place 7.3 PS, 6th place 6.0 ford. I don't know much about pulls but these were all first timers on a watered down dirt track and nobody had any modifications includings weights. I was rooting for the Dodge though.

Too bad the sleds they were pulling with the fords were dish shaped, had nylon rope handles, and imprints of the teenage mutant ninja turtles on them. Resembles a snow-sled i had when i was a kid if i remember right.

Precisely

You can even air down ur tires for a little more traction. Your wide tires have more contact than his two rear narrow tires. Two narrow panels IMHO do not always equal more traction, even if he has 4x4, i dont think that he will ever have a better advantage over 35 inch tire prints..
