Ill start out doing it, Matt is more than welcome to help.

 

Matt is very meticulous so nothing will get by him i think he is bringing a RPM gauge as well ....

 

Does his gauge have to hook to a magnetic pickup on the motor or does it measure with a laser? It would be nice to just buy a tool (heck I'd offer to pay for it) to measure it without needing something installed on the truck.

Ive got that exact laser we can use.. I just have to remember to bring magnetic tape and some spare batteries.

The RPM's will only be an issue for them P pump guys whom we have to keep a close eye on!

 

Awww, now come on, that's just below the belt there. My poor old pump as a hard enough time lifting the plungers let alone spinning the governor.

 

I don't know about that, I seem to remember a vp44 truck at a pull I was at that won the pull and it sure sounded like it was turning some pretty serious RRRRRS! If I remember right, it was kind of a different color, like a burnt orange color.

 

Ya reflective tape is what i meant. i got the motor back from the machine shop today, going to cut some fire rings in it tomorrow. Ill probably miss a few pulls but ill be at all of them.

 

You can not count fixing the holes in the tires as a "trick"
