I just bought a 03 dodge ram 2500 6 speed 4x4. My neighbour thinks that his 1996 f-150 will be able to pull my truck like it is nothing. I obviously think that he is full of bull..... He has 351 in his truck with 35's on it, and it is lifted 6'. This guy is so full of him self. One night at a party he told me he was going to put 4 turbos on his truck. I just laughed in his face and walked away. I wont to teach him what a really truck can do. Do you guys think it will be easy for me to pull him away or should I put a few hundred pounds of bricks in the back to be sure I will win.

 

hahaha thats the best one ive herd in a long time. that will be no sweat. just hook him and go. you dont need any extra weight, you already out weigh him by ALOT.

the use of ballast is usually a good idea. i cant believe a ford owner is running his mouth. thats a first!! if he is running 35s and lifted 6 feet(2 meters for the canadians) i bet that looks aweful goofy. he will be pulling from a more elevated position so get some weight and a smarty. whoop him good me

sorry he is not lifted 6 feet but 6 inches.

 

hooking bumpers is all about traction and weight. a half ton pickup, regardless of how jacked up and how big of tires, will never pull a 3/4 ton diesel with comparable drivers.

just put it in low lock and take off in second. from the sound of it, he will take the slack out of the strap and floor it. Which is the worst thing to do. so i suggest you set there and hold your brake, let him lose traction, then drag him off.

make sure to go really fast to show him who is boss....

 

I hooked up to him today. My truck pulled him like it was nothing. I got up to 40km pulling him backwards before I decided to stop before something got broke. He was so mad when he got out of his truck, now he Is challenging me to pull against his dads f-250 with the v-8 gasser in it. I told him that I would be able to pull it away even easier. This Time I am going to put a few pounds of bricks in the back to be sure.

 

haha, that is the best thing I have heard in a long time. Sounds kinda like an idot. You shouldn't have a problem the F-250 gassere either!

a full tank of fuel will be all the insurance you need to pull him, then mid pull, reset the dte meter on the overhead,,,,,,,,, then when ya get out tell him you could have pulled him X number of miles........... tell him well yeah, while I was pullin ya backwards I was still gettin 19 mpg, 34 gallon tank.............

 

What you said is not intirely true. A lifted gasser can out pull a stock height diesel i have seen it done. A lifted truck will pull up on the bumper of a shorter truck causing less traction. I had a lifted dakota with a 4.6 and out pulled a Power Joke with no lift.
