Fastest 6spd Drag times?

Just curious if anybody runnin big power with a sixer was getting any "good" times. So whats the best youve heard of and how were they setup? I know I can tow with my truck I just wanna be able to hit the high 12's low 13's mark eventually. And still have the sled capabilities of course. And Four wheel, and desert run, daily drive, etc... is this to much to ask?

good luck, the best i have done is a 9.04 in the 1/8 which is a high 13/low 14 in the quarter. and it was terrible trying to shift fast with the 5600 and a dual disk.

You cant have it all...to have the best of one, others will suffer. Better to have it be good at all than superior at one.

My son John Jr. who goes by "banshee" on this website has run a 13.23 @ 104 MPH in the quarter mile with a 1.85 sixty (60) foot time. His truck is a 2004 Dodge CTD CR, Quad Cab, 6 speed, SB, 4X4 with 3.73 gears. He is running a TST PM 3 "stacked" with an Edge EZ, Don M's EDM Injectors, 12mm head studs, Scheid Twin Turbos and a Haisley Dual Disc Clutch. He also has a very simple NX Nitrous System on the truck but has not pushed much through it to protect the head gasket!

He has been working hard on getting the truck faster and I will "stick my neck out" here and make a prediction that he should hit the high 12's this year.

Thats the kinda stuff I like to hear. I Think with the mods you mentioned plus a Smarty (im expecting alot from this), a modified cp3. cam, traction bars, etc I might have a fighting chance. I guess Ive got yhe next year or 2 planned out then. Just takes lotsa cake apparently.

There is no doubt that by adding what you have listed that the numbers you are looking for should be there. But,.....you are also right when you said "that it takes alot of cake!"

Justin:

With the power you have I KNOW you would be at or near Johnner's numbers with your truck! Heck, we have a guy down here that has nowhere near what you have and he is running mid 14's with his 6-speed.

BTW,......did you notice any difference in how your truck runs with the "Fluidamper?" Thanks!

John,
If you remember Aaron Otte from a few years back.
He currently holds the local 1/8th mile track record with a DIESEL in his 2004.5 6 speed.
His mods are TST, BDDL, and FASS and Stg1 AFE.

I wouldnt want to try dragging the truck because of my clutches tendency to want to stay engaged longer due to its weight.

Damper:
Yeah, it cuts vibration and tranny noise by about 50%.
Before the damper I found myself trying to drive around some of the tranny noise by switching gears. Now I can leave it in any gear I want and it doesnt sound like the tranny is going to vibrate out from under the truck.
Of course you will still have the clutch noise when you dis-engage the clutch, but I don't mind that.

In short, if you install a Fluidampr you will like it!!
I dont know how much difference it would make on an Auto equipped truck but I am sure it would be a positive one over the OEM unit.

Jesse,
You would have to call him and ask for the exact time.
If you need his number send me a PM and I'll give it to you.

He is running the stocker!

Thanks for your reply!

Yes, I do remember Aaron! He was a great guy. Where does he live now and can you post his times? Also, thanks for the information on the Fluidamper. I have heard nothing but good reports about them, but wanted to know how you personally liked it because I know you are hard on the equipment just like I am!

Aaron lives in Seymour, Indiana about 20 miles away.
I'll call him and see if I can get some times.
