2007 DHRA Schedule Full of Fun

DHRA has been working on completing the 2007 season schedules, classes and rule changes and have all but a few remaining details to work out. Here are some details.

New for 2007

West Coast Points Series - DHRA will have 4 maybe 5 Diesel Power! Additive points series drag races including the Las Vegas Diesel Nationals. Please see www.dhraonline.com for the schedule. This series is separate from the Eastern Diesel Power! Additives Drag Racing series and the two regions will meet in the Houston Nationals for the World Finals. Racers are allowed to compete in all races outside of their regions, but points are only awarded to the regional members. There will be three competition classes competing for points: ET Brackets, Quick Diesel and Pro Street.

Top Diesel and Pro Diesel - Two new classes that feature the quickest and fastest diesels on the planet. They will be exhibitioning at various races in 2007 with actual races at all three National Events. 2008 DHRA will include these two classes in the DieselPower! Additives Drag Racing series. The rules for these classes are complete and will be published both in the online version and in the printed rule book.

A few changes have occurred in some of our sled pulling and drag racing classes. DHRA’s continues to fine tune the classes so we can provide the racers/pullers and fans the most competitive, exciting racing and pulling in the nation.

Dyno Competition at National events – DHRA will sanction a dyno competition at these events to include 3 classes. Open – any power adder, #2 Only – diesel fuel only, and bracket – where the competitor will write down a horsepower number that they will run; the person who guesses closest wins. All competition numbers will be run in a uncorrected format.

More details are or will be available in the 2007 DHRA rulebook. DHRA hopes to have it out in the next couple of weeks.

DHRA is also proud to announce some nice additions to our sponsors/partners.

DieselPower! Diesel Additives continues as the title sponsor and official additives of the DHRA.

Valvoline Premium Blue has re-signed as the Official Oil of the DHRA. They will also step up as the title sponsor for the Quick Diesel drag racing class.

Borg Warner is now the Official Turbo Charger of the DHRA. Borg Warner has been a supporter of DHRA over the past few years and we are proud to announce the continued support for 2007. In addition, their AirWerks brand will be the title sponsor of the Pro Street Class.

Flowmaster signed on to become the Official Exhaust of the DHRA. I am sure many of you are familiar with the Flowmaster name and their quality is transferred to their diesel product line. We welcome Flowmaster to the DHRA program.

AFE signed as the Official Air Filter of the DHRA. Everyone knows of the AFE product line and their product is prevalent at all of diesel events across the county.

Another big name in the diesel industry: South Bend Clutch has signed as the official clutch of the DHRA. We are extremely excited to have the ultimate in customer service and product on board.

Diablosport has signed as the title for the Work Stock class and the title of the Hot Bodies contests that will be featured at the DHRA National events.

TM Hitchware signed as the Official Hitchware of the DHRA. This may be an unfamiliar name to many of you but they specialize in billet aluminum hitch covers, custom emblems, shift ***** etc. They have already created and produced a beautiful Official DHRA hitch cover in polished billet aluminum.

DHRA welcomes all of our new series sponsors also. Welcome aboard everyone, it is going to be a record year in diesel motorsports as DHRA continues to lead the way.

DieselPower! Drag Racing-West season opener will be in Surprise, AZ at Speedworld Raceway April 21st. This event marks the beginning of what DHRA thinks will become a power-house in diesel domination as the West finally gets to flex its performance muscles.

DieselPower! Drag Racing-East will open in Rockingham NC at Rockingham Dragway April 14th. This years’ event will be held in conjunction with the Mopars at the Rock event, an annual event for Rockingham Dragway attended by thousands of people. This will provide some great exposure for you, your team and your sponsors to kick off 2007.

Finally, DHRA is also updating the website and moving corporate headquarters to Albany, Indiana. So keep your eyes on our website for the changes and if you pass through Albany, Indiana-stop by and say hi.

Everyone at DHRA is working hard to provide the diesel enthusiast with the best program available. We still have lots of work in front of us but stay tuned to the website www.dhraonline.com for more details and further explanations on rules and classes.

As always, if there are any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact any of us at DHRA.
