Big Rigs Talk about other Cummins powered vehicles here. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even have to be Cummins, but it will be diesel! :)

I have been working on cat truck motors for about 5 years now and they have just gone down hill. You can not even order a new truck with a cat in it they finally quite building truck motors. But back to the pit box for the 15, I would tell him to save his money from getting the truck bumped by cat and just get the pit box, it will get the torque up faster than cat bumping it and cheaper because you can't take it back to cat and say you don't like it and they give your money back were if he wants to cut the truck back he can just do it himself or even sell the pit box. Thats just my opinion.

I have been running pittsburg power unit for 3yrs and was recommended it by stewart stevenson in dallas. Truck gets 7.5mpg consistantly and makes ranger hill a mole hill at 700hp and a little over 2100tq. Road ranger 13 with 3.55 rears

Ranger Hill doesn't look like much . . until you're about a quarter of the way up and realize that you'll be seeing most of it at a far lower speed than you thought.

A regular customer at the shop has a "king of the hill cat" 625 with a Pittsburg
Power box. It is insane. He will no not keep it off the top level towing heavy and is tough on head gaskets. It helps that he has the most impressive warranty I have ever seen on a truck and our service manager turns a blind eye
to his mods. He is a great customer, though.
