Big Rigs Talk about other Cummins powered vehicles here. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even have to be Cummins, but it will be diesel! :)

95 C8.3 Cummins Info Needed

Hey Guys

Looking at a RV Hauler to replace my 06 (which runs great) as we are probably going to get another 5th wheel that is about 4-5K heavier than what I currently have. The Engine is as shown in the title. It has an Allison 3160P Tranny. (6Sp)

Using the Build sheet Serial for the engine, Cummins told be it was 275HP

What I need to know is;

What is the Torque Rating ?

What is the Max HP for that Block Series if anyone knowns for that year?

Its a 12 Valve just like my old 96. Same Inj Pump More less.

Anyone know what injectors would be needed to get her up a little above 300 hp?

Thanks for the help.

Dave

Quite possibly the best package for an RV toter. Torque at 275hp is roughly 750. Max rating from the factory in marine trim is 480hp. Your trans wont take that much for very long. The pump is similar, but doesnt rev quite as high. You can add gov springs, fuel plate, delivery valves, and other common bolt ons.
There's injectors available up to 480hp, but you'll be over 300 just from sliding the fuel plate forward.
