Angry Vacuum pump went!!!

Hey guys,

Well this is mostly a vent thread than anything.

I arrived at work today and as soon as stopped I could hear something that sounded similiar to my fan rubbing on something. I immeadeatly popped the hood and could distinctively hear the vac pump ping like ol'hell.
I drove it to the closest town(Drayton valley). Took it to the dodge dealership to ask them to take a quick look at it and they turned me away!! Told me to call the dealer I bought it from in Edmonton get them to fix it.
So I drove to the GMC dealership and asked them to help a guy out in a bind since both my dealership and the Drayton valley dealership just didnt seem to give 2 hoots about me! They ordered me a pump today from Red Deer($1360) and will have my truck done for me by 4pm tommorow afternoon as I need it for work.
To top it all off they even gave me a free truck rental for today and tommorow since I took it to them to get fixed. It's funny how they almost bent over backwards to get me going again when my own guys(Dodge) just had the "oh well" attitude, Oh and of course im 3000k over my 60,000 so they wont even consider it being warranty.
Anyways sorry for the long post just had to get it out.

It truely is a sad and much beaten topic, but man it sucks!! Their customer care sevice is below average in my mind. We practically pay an arm and a leg for these fricking things and they just shrugg their shoulders and dont seem to care when you call them.
Thus proving the ol saying "you are your own warranty".

Sorry to hear that. My home field office is in Drayton Valley. I've been to the dealer there a few times. I can't say it surprises me.

Used to live out there - you dont want truck trouble in that neck of the wood$$$$$.

Theres a reason the owner of the Edson dealership has a race car.

Hey Mega, You should call the customer care center. I did that and i ended up getting a phone call back and they went ahead and gave me some free graph(couple free oil changes and a nice letter of appology) and the next time i went in for warranty work they put 2 new drive shaft in my trcuk and fixed both front axle seals in for free NQA.They even waved the $100 fee.

Well I just got off the phone with cummins western Canada and ive got a vac pump on the way for a mere $237. When I told him how much the dealer wanted he near (you know what) his pants. He also recommended that unless im looking for performance parts they will have evrything I need and I should throw the Stealerships parts phone number away. Done!!!!!

Magoo

I deal with John at Cummins western canada all the time. Real nice guy, seems to be able to find everything I need, every time.

And, with air shipping being relatively cheap, its easier for me to get parts from him, than to wait for the local cummins dealer to get it. Also, if I go through the local guys I get to pay their markup and still pay the freight.

There is a no-brainer

Glad to hear they fixed you up, good luck with it

I get all my engine parts from Cummins here in Calgary. I thought that price you posted was a little ridiculous. You can join the Power booster club as well and get 10% off for $40.

That sounds like a sweet deal. How do I go about joining the Power booster club?
I picked up my truck today from the GMC dealership today and I was rather impressed not only did they get me out of a bind they also detailed the inside of my truck at no charge. Well besides the 30min sales pitch one of the sales guys was throwing at me. I must admit though another run in with the dealerships like I just had and who knows what will happen in the heat of the moment!!
