turbo oiling

just had a thought .

for the bottom turbo drain iam using a 7/8" hose tapped into the pan.above the cold full level in the pan.

is there a possibiluty when the engine is runing, crank spining that there is a possible "blockage" causing the oil to not flow like it should.

should i be using a restrictor?

and if i pour oil into the feed how much should flow through.

iam a little paranoid, dont want to mess this thing up..

the oil feed apears to have a restrictor built in deffenitaly not open like the drain

Why would you want to restrict the drain. If the oil builds up in the housing it gives it a chance to blow past the seals and into your intake or exhaust. I know neither of my turbo's are restricted on the drain side, and I don't think they are on the feed side either.

Quit thinking so much. I have seen drains below the oil level that still work fine. DO NOT restrict the return, Holsets have an internal restrictor on the feed not sure about the BW. If you pour oil in the feed almost all of it should come out the drain. A little bit will stay in the chra if it was dry. But it won't come out at the rate you pour it in cause there is no pressure.

obviously i would not restrict the drain.

this bw doesnt flow right through= zero oil pressure it wont it apears to be tapered or something. ill have to take another look.

i was thinking a restrictor for the feed to have less pressure causing seals to weap.

can you tell my turbo knowlege is limited

did i mention THIS IS THE SECOND TURBO
iam being extra carefull re looking at any possibility...

i dont want to pull this apart for a lllooonnngg time.

b north come help me finish it... or are you going to mexico?

all thats left is heat exchanger plumbing, set the valves , bolt on the fender/inner,install draw straw and get it fired up
