Squeak Squeak...

Hey everybody, it's been awhile! Hope everyone is doing good.

I have this squeak cummin from the front driver side wheel, but the strange thing is if i lightly put on brake it goes away. Washed up the wheel and brakes and the sound quit, but this morning it came back. The other day i sprayed some lube on the joints and it had gone away for a few days also. Would this be a wheel bearing or just something stuck in the caliper. Oh also if i dont hear it for a bit and slightly turn the wheel right it starts to squeak again. Front brake pads are fairly new but i have put on some serious miles lately going to Sask and back. Any idea's????

Thanks Chad...

As long as you have lots of pad material and it does away when you brake, I would not worry about it...

Thats kinda what i was thinking, but you always hear the horror stories of the wheel locking up and seiezing on the highway or something like. That would be a bad wreck, plus something i dont want to over look if it is something else. The squeak sound is really embarassing too, i just ride the brake to get rid of it lol.

I had a dust shield rub on mine rotor. Drove me crazy, I just got mad and bent the shields out the way. That fixed my sweaky noise issue.

Well i still have the squeak, was not a rat or mouse they would have died by now. lol Took off all four tires and checked all four corners. Nothing looks out of wack, u joints r good no play. It's starting to drive me insane, but why would it stop when brake applied??? and lightly too. Im lost i guess it's gonna go to the dealership, no appointment yet, driving to brooks for a course tomorrow. maybe ill get my mech too look at it if i get a chance to stop by the shop.

Could be a sticky caliper not releaasing enough and letting the pad touch the rotor lightly.

Do you really want to take it to the dealership??You know they will tell you you need hundreds of dollars of work...Jack the front end you and remove the calipers and do your own checkup...Maybe its just a rock stuck somewhere in your brake
