RJ performance

Just wondering if anybody has dealt with these guys (ie - in Alberta...) as this price seems to be one of those too good to be true things...

Thanks

I talked to them on the phone when i was doing my motor and it seemed like a decent shop. But you cant really tell much with a 5 minute phone call. Those prices sure are nice and low tho. I would have come out ahead if i bought a complete engine there and sold mine for parts.

My brother bought a head for his '98 from them. Everything worked out good. I have heard of some others having issues with them though.

I have seen lots of posts on diesel sites - many people are not happy with them.

Cant find the post, but there was a police officer on here awhile ago looking for info about rj perf. Think there has been some issues, I vote for Harry to.

Yes, I seen that too - they were being investigated. Theres some info here:

It sure looks like the same company you are asking about - I think I would be cautious in dealings with them.

Buy from Peak Diesel Performance if youre in Canada, or from the DTR store.

I've only made two small purchases from Harry at Peak..........a Smarty POD and a SB DD clutch - and just a couple other things from Mr. Ellis at the DTR store.

Listen to those above and call Harry or Lary.......place all other concerns aside. There are only a few things they couldn't supply me.

Thanks guys... I'll steer clear...

Haven't opened the engine to see what I need yet (no warm garage big enough)... was thinking about a drop in... not sure which would be easier yet. The big question (to me) will be how much damage was done to the crank... I know the woodroff sheared, and some of the intermediatary timing gears were damaged... So... probably a couple of pistons and a new head/cam as well...

Will also be interesting to see if the timing gear comes off the crank OK...

What are you looking for? What year of truck you have? It might be easier to just get a replacement engine.

Yup... That's why I was hunting and found RJ. I have a 94. I'm trying to find a decent engine for a reasonable price (it is, after all, a 94, so I'm not interested in spending a huge amount...).

A little leery of the used engine's I've found so far... Still looking... There has been some kijiji ads lately...

Thanks

I thought they sounded familiar, they are all over Kijji.
