Putco Step Bars

So I ordered the bars back on Dec 6th and the finally arrived last week and got them on. They are PUTCO 4" Stainless wheel to wheel step bars and I love them. This is the third set I have had. Had them on a 03 quad cab and a 06 mega cab. They have changed the design of the bars and the mounting brackets a bit but they are still quite sturdy. They are also very functional as to getting stuff out of the box. Be warned though they are not cheap, I paid just over 1200.00 installed.

That is "not cheap". Nice rig, I miss and I loved the look on my 3rd gen MC but the 4th gen CC looks (to me) better than the 4th gen MC

Thanx for the buzz Mike,
I've been busy for the past 3 mths on a crappy reno on a rental unit, long story, everything was done crappy, owners actually took pride in the fact that they allowed the tennats to paint their own units to "feel at home" , place had more toothpaste on it's walls than William Colgate prolly ever dreamed of selling.......When the drains got plugged by too many tampons, Lady owner said that as a woman she understands why women will flush down the toilet tampons, pads, etc.......
That's when I told the Mr. Rooter guy to go ahead and make his money, he hit them with a $2,000 bill for 3-4 hrs of work and $30 worth of parts and glue............My price would've been $4-500.......But since it took me 2 coats of tinted primer and 3 coats of paint to cover the "home feeling green paint" I thought that the client needs a lesson........And a wake up call..........
Also my laptop crapped out on me exactly 1 month past the 3 yr warranty, nothing major just the $2.00 BIOS battery that however takes taking the entire thing apart to replace.
And then the desktop is at a snail pace since my 7 and 8YO kids "have to" play games and load it with crap, viruses and mess up the settings.......
So between work and the absence of my laptop which I use in bed after my stiff drinks and a hot bath I went MIA for a few mths.
Good news tho, I'm about done with this job and I got so frustrated about doing reno's that I decided to retire once again and go back to Law school.

As fot the recalls, done all 4 of them on Tuesday, also had them put Nitro in my tires since my sensors were always out of wack.
Looking forward for the spring and doing the deletes, stainless steel straight pipe and wondering about smarty or black max.............
By the way, I love the Amsoil, truck purrs like a kitten...........

Blackmaxx you can turn off the TPMS (the tire pressure stuff). Smarty still hasn't worked out for the 4th gen yet, lots of bugs and issues.

I haven't drove my 2010 since Christmas. I'm still running the stock tires, they are the worst in snow. That truck would get stuck in almost anything, needs some real tires on it, but I'm too cheap to spend money on it.

That engine we built-up that day you came over and helped out is still running great which is supprising considering the envirnoment its in. Rob put in a stick into that truck (5 speed).

I have a new 12V build going on.

I might come to see you after this job is done I need some "me" time and some more brain picking...........not sure if I wanna go straight pipe or muffler, I know I want 5" stainless, love the sound that stainless makes, and it seems like you're almost convincing me about the blackmaxx.

The delete pipe is easy, we can make one pretty easy. Go straight pipe. These 10's don't make any noise at all. You'll be surprised how fast that you get soot build-up inside these 6.7L engines. Kinda clumps together in chunks. Slowly making its way into the valves/pistons. That was enough to justify the deletes by itself. The extra fuel mileage was a nice bonus as well. When I ran summer fuel I averaged 10-12L/per 100km's for fuel consumption. Slightly better than my 02. You'll be surprised how much free horsepower you'll get just by removing the DPD/cat.

The stock muffler is 4in straight flow thru design. I am still running mine. I have to complete my deletes one day. I'm still running the stock air horn and have the EGT cooler. I have all the parts to complete the delete, but have no motivation for the new truck.

Mike you offered to make me one 5 minutes after we first met and I appreciate it, I'm not the one to turn down help or favors because I always do favors and try to help(never learn, most times it ends up biting me in the ****), however, I really like the sound of stainless steel pipe/muffler, prolly cause my dad always had them in his cars the week after the car would come from the factory. Call it stupid, vain or what you want, even Joe also said there's no difference between stainless and regular however TO ME stainless steel has a nice sound. It sounds a bit vain but when and if I do the deletes I'd love the 5" stainless w or w/o muffler, not sure yet I'd like to see/hear them both before I go either way.
Come to think about it is vain, after all is an exhaust, doing it in stainless is pretty much like lining up a sphincter with bacon
You'll prolly end up picking up the parts for me anyway from Peak, so when I'm ready I'll come and let you "learn" me about what I need...

Make sense, you probably should look at a complete 3rd gen exhaust. That way you can take off the entire old 10 exhaust. My problem is I'm a cheap skate. Also if I need to take my truck in for warranty work, its about 30mins to install the old DPF/CAT. Removing an entire exhaust isn't much more work, but it is abit more hassle.

I wouldn't call it cheap skate, your advantage is that you like to work on vehicles, have the tools for it and the patience. My garage is a wood working shop and is too small to fit my truck in anyway, I'd have to buy/rent/borrow new tools, too much of a hassle to DIY.
If it was about fixing a piece of furniture/plumbing/electrical etc, I'd be ashamed to not be a cheap skate.........

Alex, call Harry at Peak, he will set you up with the H&S and a complete exhaust system. The cash you save we can split the difference.

I have all the parts to do a turbo upgrade and injector swap, just been too lazy as of late. I want to convert my 10 to a 2nd gen manifold and I have a S366 and 100HP size nozzles for my new truck.

You might need a clutch, they tend to slip once you start to crank up the power. A dual disk would be perfect. You probably can get 600-700rwhp out that truck pretty easily. My auto would be a pile on broken parts at that power level.
