I've never had an issue with sucking air at less than a 1/4 tank. Infact, I've had my truck on the E-mark, and still ran fine. Apparently my dad could stall my truck when coming to a stop, but I haven't seen it yet. Just need to set the pickup module to teh right height, and cut the straw accordingly. Mine is set to 1/2" above the bottom. Another issue might be that guys do this when they drop the tank. The tank is probably supported where the module goes and bows up, reducing that height. I did mine with the tank still in the truck, just as it would be when running.

Why did they mess with the tank to pull the tranny? When I did the tranny upgrades on my '01 I didn't touch the tank. Is it a SB thing?

The fuel tank brace, its about 4 to 6in wide. You have to remove it get the driveshaft out. I'm thinking about running the in-tank with my fass. Its a pretty simple install. Worst case is might have an underhood fuel leak on intial start-up. I bet I would have around 30+psi of fuel pressure and tons fuel flow at the injection pump. I want to put back in the stock fuel filter and heater unit, and run a 5/16 line from the filter to the injection pump. That should reduce the pressure somewhat. Tate, I will call you after lunch, I'll show you the kit and take a look at you're fuel pick-up unit. If your's looks good, I might take you up on you're offer.

HMMM must be a SB thing didn't have that problem on my '01.

I've seen 29psi on my '01 with the Holley Blue pushing into the stock setup and no leaks.

Well I've got it running, for 2 seconds at a time. I think the sentry system is shutting it down. I had the batteries disconnected for over a week and think it may have lost its ability to recognize the keys. Tried both and no difference.

I'm gonna put both pumps into series. I should only see around the low 30's for pressure. Clay, you're gonna have to come out to one of our meets? It would be good to see you drive the 03 to the show. Mines almost done, I just have to do the electric stuff tomorrow. Mine started today, without the in-tank pump. So I guess that I'm a little ahead of you, tomorrow I should be done and start to driving a daily beating into her again. Monday, she's going in for a front end alignment, and it should be done for now. Next weekend my 08 comes apart.

"they" say pressures over20-ish psi to the vp44 will eventually rupture or damage the diaphram inside it. causing hard starts and some other issues.

Sorry but I beat you! Just came back from a test drive. Turns out the ECM on the truck has to match the ECM on the engine. Swapped the ECM from my HO motor onto the SO I installed in the truck and it fired right up.

Power is down quite a bit from what is was before, not sure if its cause its an SO motor, or cause its got stock injectors whereas before I had the 20hp Jammers in there and just went stock this time. Or maybe my turbo did take some damage and isn't putting out 100%. I'll know for sure after the Edge J/A goes on.

That 6spd takes a bit to get used to, always keep wanting to downshift or forget what gear I'm in. Pretty clunky shifting as well. Rather disappointed with that. Will try changing the oil down the road to synthetic.

Don't really like the heated seats either, REALLY hard and don't get near as hot as the seats in my '01.

VERY quiet though! I actually went thru a drive thru without having to shut the engine off. Heater works way better as well.

Thanks guys! Now I just have to figure out what to do with the old engine.....

Clayh, you win, there was never any doubt. Mines never done anyways. I feel like a dumb a_$ buying the mopar fuel pickup unit. I think sometimes that mopar just wants us to give up on the old girls. At least they could have built a decent fuel pick-up system for the amount of $$$ that they charged for the piece of sh__. I'm kinda wondering if the pressure reg inside the fass will just limit my fuel pressure to 16psi. It will at least help to prime the fass system. I want to put back in the stock fuel filter and 5/16 fuel lines to cut some pressure down. I remember talking to a few guys that ran 40ish psi at the VP. They never had a problem, but saying that I will more than likely.

I think I got an adjustable pressure regulator in the box with my Holley blue. You could try that route to control pressure.

Looking outside today I hope you have a garage. I kept saying I wanted mine done before snow fell because I cann't work on it with the door closed. It has in floor heat though so its not bad, I even tarped the door on the cooler days and it was pretty warm inside.

I installed a small electric winch on the floor so once the engine was in place I and the hoist out of the way I could atleast bring it all the way into the garage at night and close the door. Really NOT looking forward to the next utilities bill though.

Guess I'll get to see how the Toyo M55s work in the snow. Going to take the family out for a drive to Ghost Dam today.

I have an insulated garage with an radiate heater (ifrared), its works pretty good and fast. My truck fits inside my gargage with about 1/2ft in back to 2 ft in front extra. I don't have to open the door unless I have to.

Hey Mike, I will give you a shout a little later today about that pickup, phone is dead and I need to get ready to go to Whitecourt.

I wouldn't try an run that mopar pump and the fass together, you'll just cavitate the FASS pump.

So far it working pretty good. I have a pretty rock solid 16psi at the injection pump. The dodge wiring harness that comes in the kit is junk. I have to hack into the stock harness and crimp in a new line for the pump. The truck seemed to work pretty good so far, so time will see. The two pumps seem to work ok together. I have to wait for the weather to clear so I can put in some decent hard wot pulls. What kinda of luck do you think I have, my first tank of diesel fuel in a long long time, I get muddy trash diesel but any ways today its a driver. I want dodge to check the alignment sometime next week. One wheel seems out and tracks funny. Things are looking up. I even did a decent burnout with her the other day. I want to see my 80# boost gauge pegged some day soon, its been awhile.
