Wow, $34 a qt at the dealer.

I'm trying to find Amsoil for my tranny in Calgary with no luck.
Anyone know where I can find some?

 

I did find it for $21L at a chevy dealer. (chev & dodge both use the nv4500) same oil. I used synthetic GL-4 Penzoil 75w-90 in mine. so long as the oil is rated gl-4 NOT gl-5 its ok to use.

 

I talked my dealer down to $27/litre, still too much.

 

Call a couple chev/dodge dealers. Go to quad4x4.com, they have the chevy and dodge p/n for it. If you tell them you want Castrol Syntorq, they think you are retarded. If you ask for manual tranny oil, you will likely get a 5w30 weight GL5 gear oil, not the 75w90 GL4 stuff.

 

Excell Transmission in RD uses a BOSS lube that is compatible, much more cost effective.. AMSOIL just put their prices up 25%...

Excell might do the overhaul on mine...Good price and I can't get the time to do it myself.
