NV4500 oil

Anyone know what the best oil is to use in the NV4500 and how much it takes?

Thanks

Jeff

From dodgeram.org

# Fluid Capacity: 8.5 pints

* Fill level is to the bottom edge of the fill plug hole.
* These are the ONLY lubricants recommended for the NV4500:
o 75W-90 Castrol Syntorque Synthetic
o Mopar Manual Transmission Lubricant (PN 4637579)
o GM Transmission oil (PN 12346191)
o NOTE: Syntorque is NOT the same as Castrol Syntech.

Amsoil makes a lube for it as well...

Using anything other than the OEM lube can wear the fibre syncros prematurely....and cause failure. You can get away with different fluids in the 6 speed but not the 5 speed.

Check some GM dealers - sometimes they sell the Castrol Syntorque for much cheaper.
