new vp44

where is a good place in edmonton to get a new vp44, i think my little shutter/surge issue is a form of dead pedaling. i got that new CPS in and it still did it as soon as i put it on a pl above 2 and tossed a code which i asume is the pump code again

GCL Diesel

Talk to Jared in Sales, or Rick in Service. Both excellent guys to deal with.

I get all my reman pumps there.

Not to steal the post...But I know a fellow that has a 2001 which has a dead pedal. The truck idles ok but when you press on the pedel its dead for a long time then takes off.The only code he gets is a Mapp senor error...He hasn't checked the pressure yet...Could it be his VP going.??

A cheap place in E town for a VP is Triple Eight Diesel, if you need one ASAP they might have one on the bench. GCL will be around $1800+core and NADP will be more. I got 100k out of my last one that I bought from Triple Eight. It still works, if you lived closer to me you could try it and see if it fixes your problem. I also have a few cores but they are broken. I also have a slightly used NADP HRVP available (about 200km on it) with a 035 key in it. I'm not a big fan of the missing engine sound. Everyone that hears the truck thinks something is broken

What about the wet coast? PDR or PEAK could get you a pump at a pretty good price I would think...

Kennyblatz, call Rip Rook from Source Automotive in the US. I got my SO sent to my door for $1250.00 with a full one year warranty regardless of wire tap or not!!! Nobody here will warranty a wire tapped pump, nobody!!! Took me 9 days to get mine. He's so excellent to deal with, heck, he'll even send ya a Christmas card. Now that's customer service!!!

Now thats impressive.

Kenny, if your pump is still running, save yourself some money and spend some time by going to the states for your pump. Rip sounds good (I've never heard a complaint about this man), or PDW, or call up the BC boys and see what they have. I went to GCL when mine locked up on me, they are pricey, and I wasn't terribly impressed with them.

You betcha, no questions asked!!! I wouldn't go anywhere else. He sold it to me without core charge($300.00). I sent my old one back to him as soon as I installed the new SO. If you don't send it back within 1 month, he will charge your MC or Visa for a core charge of $300.00. Pretty easy going rules there. Just my $.02 but a good $.02...

I use the stealth plate, you can get the bolts out without voiding the warranty. Some shops use the paint, but if your carefull you can get the bolts out without damaging the paint. What they don't know wont hurt them. Kenny, you gonna pull your own wrenchs on the VP install? There a video on one of the forums that will give lots of info to do the job yourself and save some $$$. Triple is $1295+core. When you pull the pump, can you find out which key they use? Make sure its the same as the pump which you pull out. Good luck, its only money right.

Keys are pump specific, not engine specific, so it shouldn't matter which key is on the new pump.
