My wife was with me at the Edmonton North side dyno about a year ago. The NADP guys had a couple of cool trucks parked outside with the hoods up. One of the NADP guys was by the truck and she told him how cool it looked. He thanks her, and she says " I guess your warranty was shot a long time ago?!" LOL!!

You know my tranny was actually holding up fine. I towed my sled trailer to Sicamous with 5 sleds in it. The roads were icey and snowy and I had the truck in 4x4 the whole way. When I got home my power steering conked out, I took it to the dealer and he flashed my computer and soon as I got it back, my overdrive wouldn't shift right. I took it back and they wanted to pull the tranny under warranty. I didn't want to BS them, and I really didn't want a stock tranny, because I want to add a few more ponies. So I just decided to go for the full meal deal. When they pulled it apart it was definetly showing the signs of the smarty. It was a little burnt, the torque was the main culprit apparently it wasn't holding up too good anymore. It lasted over 35k on smarty #9. I wish the tires would last that long.

Not sure what is going to be happening with my work schedule but I will try to show up if possible-hopefully to catch up with some of the guys that I haven't seen for many moons...

I'm afraid to dyno the truck as it is getting a little long in the tooth now but I gotta admit I'm mildly interested to see what it would do other than slip the clutch with the DragCOMP on 5x5 and the Smarty on 9. Must be getting old as I haven't even turned my COMP on for a year and a half.....

I'm still around....have poked my head in here once in a very long while to see what is going on but the most recent GTG's have been when I have been working-which seems to be all the time now. Monday was the first real day off in more than a month between paying work and twisting wrenches in the shop on "days off" . The Silver Cloud has required a little wrench-twisting over the last while-it's getting old I guess. On the bright side there's not much left to go wrong now! Gearing up to do an injector swap and some pump-tweaking on Dad's '92-and my brother's '98 is in desperate need of some timing I think so I'm shopping for the toolset as we speak....I have acquired or constructed a fairly decent array of CTD tools now from 1st gens to the newer stuff-just need to work up the ambition to use them now!

Is your cell # still the same? I will have to give you a call next time I am up around your way-I have been meaning to call Marc every time I hit Edmonton-but it seems like I'm flying in, flying around to get things done and then pounding for home.

JHansen, where abouts are you? If you're in the Calgary area, I've got timing tools for the 98 you can use.

Appreciate the offer Tate...I am east of Drumheller out here way past where the cows go to die....

I'm just waiting for the Snap-On guy to get back to me with a price to decide how I'm going to proceed-I will probably buy a set anyways as I'm super-**** about borrowing stuff-then they can sit beside my 1st gen set and look pretty collecting dust in a cabinet with my other CTD stuff. I imagine we will be playing around with it a little bit anyways-plus there may be another P-pumped wonder in my future.

Are you out past Youngstown? Spent some time there this spring. Quite the 1 horse town.

No-about 1/2 way between Drumheller and Hanna-closest town is Delia-I think even smaller than Youngstown....

How did you get lucky enough to hang in Y-town? Assuming something oil-related as there's not too much else going on out there.

I was doing a shutdown at Sheerness, Hanna was booked. Youngstown looked closer on Google than Delia. Had some family that use to live in Delia, live in Drum now. I'm sure I'll be out that way again in '09 or so. Was a nice relaxing drive back to the hotel every morning, although it does suck starting to get sleepy when a group of deer decide to cross the road . . .

Ahh yes....never even thought about shutdown at the plant. You are right, Hanna fills up fairly quickly when shutdown time comes. Have some friends that usually go out there for that time as well...
