issue with ED

alright so i'll post this here cause they may or may not be in the wrong and theres not to many people in here.
2 months ago i sent my wastegate back to them as the valve was not seating. i still have not seen it so i called and they said o we shipped it 3 weeks ok. alright so can you get me a tracking number sure no problem that was a week ago. i have sent emails and called both numbers and left messages no anserw.

should they not have let me know when they shipped it?
shouldn't they be on top of this as i paid there price for it and it was busted out of the box?
im just kinda choked as the last sledpull is 2 weeks away i don't have a wastegate and spent 5 grand on my truck this year for sledpulling but i haven't been able to pull yet.

anyway can i be alittle ****** they didn't let me know when they shipped it and don't call me back when they say they will.

You still running the GT40? I would just dump the ED gate and run the turbo as is. Are you allow to run water for the pulls? Could some spray to cool the air some more so you don't need a gate. You around the 50-60psi range right? 80psi is different animal and you'll break the turbo.

Boy--- once a company gets a good following there heads seems to swell and forget the "CUSTOMER".They must have to much business to even want any of mine as i e-mailed them over a week ago with the intent of wanting a turbo(62/65/12 or there popular one 62/68/12).Going to start to turn thing up on my 07 now maybe it time to look elsewhere. Thanks for the heads up.DW

Yeah mike still got the 4094 I'm going to pull it and go to stock or steal your 3782 if I can sell this one.

Tell me aboùt it I called valair for what will be my 3rd clutch from them so far a happy customer and the guy says no I won't ship it usps "we would have to drop it off at the post office ourselves". So then I had to track down the owner and straighten that out as it wasen't a problem for the last clutch.

Maybe my girl friend has been calling every diesel shop and telling them to stop dealing with me haha

Man that sucks Kenny
Sadly I tried ED on phone, e mail and on about 3 forums were they are vendors
I Didn't get a very warm feeling about ordering from them . I know I am not a racer, puller. I sent all my info and finally got a response which took forever ......I just kinda felt they were to busy to care about a of the shelve turbo
(62/68/14) Ditto on the heads up

Good timing as the GT3782R is coming off tonight. New stuff to go on... Let me know if you want it or not. I have a plan for it if you don't want it.

Who is Ed? Elite diesel? Extreme diesel? Edmonton diesel? Enchilada diesel?

And this will be my feeble attempt at humor. Go see you doc for some cialis or Viagra. Lots of happy people on the commercials on tv!

hahaha . . . good humour

ED is Engineered Diesel - they specialize in turbo's . . .

I also ordered a 62.68.14 from them. It took FOREVER to get here, but from what I was told, I couldn't really blame ED. They were waiting on parts which were backordered from BW . . . then there was a problem with the shipping paperwork and it got turned around at the border the first time. After that, Chris express shipped it on his own dime via USPS and it finally arrived.

I then thought I had some issues with it, called up Chris and he was great helping me troubleshoot. I will admit though, I have sent a couple emails which went unanswered, and a couple phone calls too. A bit hard to get a hold of, but I have not had any major issues to note. I knew ahead of time they were hard to get a hold of though . . . so I wasn't surprised. All in all, I have been happy with the product and service.

As for off the shelf turbo's . . . he told me first hand they don't build turbo's to sit on a shelf. Each turbo is built for the truck it is going into (machining and such), which is why the turnaround time might be a bit longer than expected. Also, of all the places I called inquiring about a new turbo for my truck - Chris from ED asked me more questions and spent more time informing me than anyone else I had talked too.

I'm not tootin' there horn . . . just telling my story as is . . .

Yeah I hear ya I'm not trying to bash them just want my parts so I can crank the fuel up haha. I don't know why so many companies don't call back though when I call I usually have my visa in hand and am willing to pay if I get a quote.

Those guys do look happy in that commercial but I think at 23 that's not my issue, is there a pill to make girls more interested? Haha

I believe the pill you're looking for is called rohypnol? Haha, sorry to hear about your troubles though, hopefully they can get it taken care of soon. I'd heard a lot of good things about ED over on Comp D, hopefully they aren't goin down the drain in the customer service department.

It would seam that a lot of companys in the deisel performance market have poor customer service as far getting a hold of them and returning emails. It seams to me that the companys that do really well, grow really fast and have a hard time growing fast enough to keep the customer service up where it should be. There are a few companys that it takes days to get a hold of someone on the phone, or get an email answered. Its really anoying but I think I've gotten used to it.

well i may or may not have an issue with my turbo. just had wink put in studs and mach 2's for me and i was expecting great things but that is not the case. the turbo seems to spool when it wants to with no rhyme or reason to it. i'll give it a couple more days of driving, to see if there is a common denominator before giving ED a call/email though . . . i'll keep everyone posted.

so for now, if you see a silver 2nd gen smoking like nuts - it's probably me, but not by choice!
