injectors

I need alittle more power and want some injectors. I have found a good price on sone 75HP DDP and 80HP dragon fly injectors. What are your guys opinion. I have 99 2500 5 speed manual with power puck, 4"exhaust, 3.5"intake, bhaf. Do you think I will have any EGT issues towing 7000 lb trailer and a camper on my truck. What about my stock clutch.

I just found this alberta forum. Thanks for any information

You will most likely start to slip a stock clutch with an extra 75hp and pulling that much weight. Hard to say about EGTs, just depends on the injector and I'm not familar with that brand.

If you only want another 75hp, I would look at something like a Smarty or Edge Juice. This way you can dial back the HP and more fine tune it for towing. Once injectors are in they are on all the time.

This is what I would also suggest. You can get a box that will give you 120hp and as little as 40 if you want, and a couple settings inbetween.

See if you can find someone to test load a Smarty programmer for you on your second genner,my Mach 1.5(90HP) injectors(very clean with the box turned down). They were a good combo towing with the Smarty and stock turbo but i eventually moved up to more air(B1-2turbo) and larger sticks(MACH 4'S -150HP).No more heavy towing with this ride now as i have the 07 for that-----Good luck

the programmer/box route is a good idea.

if you are set on injectors, i will be switching mine in the summer to some slightly larger ones and would let the RV275's go for a good deal to a local member . . .

i am currently running a quad xzt+ (stock, 30hp or 65hp) adjustable box with the RV275's (takes any stock motor from stock hp to a 275 hp rating). the combo is considered mild, but its very nice to tow with. even with this mild setup - i can make my TC slip with or without something in tow. if driven properly i have no issues. i would think a manual would hold up better than the auto.

this is just another option on top of the wide range hp boxes. for comparison - i got into my setup (all brand new parts) for about the same cost as a higher hp box such as EDGE Juice or QUAD Adrenaline (boxes by themselves without better monitors)

on second thought - you didn't mention gauges. you would be wise to get a three gauge setup (pyro, boost, fuel psi).

with the Quadzilla Adrenaline or Edge Juice you can have gauges incorporated into the system by purchasing the additional monitors (Quadzilla Adrenaline w/Pulse or Edge Juice w/Attitude)

I forgot to mention I have the three main gauges, boost, fuel and pyro. I have a power puck which is about 50HP. I thought a stock clutch would not be bad with this plus 75HP sticks. Would it be fine without the towing as I only do it a few times a year. How much is a confe clutch and who is trustworthy localy to install it.

You do any towing? That clutch will take a beating. I would run the bigger 90 sticks, and the 120hp box, but that clutch will start skipping. Anything bigger than 90-100rwhp sticks, you'll need a turbo? Mines a whimpy 450rwhp, just never enough until I break something. I can take you for a ride in my truck one day if you want. If you use the RV sticks, you could probably use the water/meth stuff, for a little extra power. The spray, works better if you have no smoke and abit of egt's. You've done any fuel system mods yet?

i have a 100 raptor. Since I only tow a few times a year I thought my clutch might be alright with the 75HP sticks. That is as big as i want to go as I do not want to get into new turbo's. Would the clutch hold up to RV275 sticks.

I slipped my stock one with just an Edge comp box---stock sticks with my 6 speed then move of to a Southbend.

Only one way to find out for sure. At least the RV275 are pretty cheap and seem to work pretty good. Whos 75 stick you thinking about? I have a few sets sitting here at home ranging from a 125 stage 4 jammer to two sets of dynomite. You can try a set of sticks and see what you think. Where you live? If you go with the bigger sticks, and the 120hp box, you can always drive around on the low power setting until you have some more money for a clutch.

I had an edge Ez (wich should be similar power to the power puck) and 90 hp injectors with a fass and intake and exhuast, never sliped the ctutch till I added a tuner then the clutch sliped instantly when i applyed power lol. I did pull a 16 foot inclosed trailer loaded with quads and gear and a camper in the box all the way to hinton and back with no clutch issuses, had some EGT issuses though, pulled some of the hills at 50km/h becuase of EGTS. Mind you I did have a really fresh stock replacement clutch at the time. I was able to get a away with it but i wouldn't guarante that someone else would get away with it.

I have two sets, one used 110's and a new set of 150's. the jammers are 125. I can show you my truck and you can try them out to see what you think. The 110's aren't that hot and are actually run cooler than a stock stick. I'm pretty impressed with them. If you want a more fuel mileage stick, buck down stick the RV275 would good. You can get them new less than $300. Jason, has a set in his truck. I think his truck smokes more than mine I never drove them. I had a set of BD40's once, I hated them. I couldn't tell the truck had anymore power over stock. The ez and 110's works nice with a programmer and get decent fuel mileage. I ran that for awhile, when I was to lazy to tap the pump.

Where can you get RV275 for less than $300. That is cheap. My worry is there will not be much of a difference with these injectors.
Rage_blue what brand where those 90Hp sticks.
