Gun ranges in Alberta

What is the membership costs of some of the gun ranges in Alberta?I checked one here in Clagary and they want $400 a year.A little to rich for me.

There is a free one in Sibbald Flats. You head south on hwy #68 and it is on the left hand side about 10miles in, gotta watch for the sign it is easy to miss.Or you can call me Dave and i can take you out to where i hunt any time for a little practice.

Yep. Its not to bad, but its kind of a mess. No one cleans it up at all.

The strathcona county range is 70 bucks a year.....and it has a pretty snazzy clubhouse, childrens center, outdoor skating rink and the like......400 sounds like somebody is just trying too cash in!!!

Got a call from the Okotoks gun club..Better,but still pricy at $175 a year.

Where exactly are they at? Closer than heading to the farm to shoot. Can they handle high powered rifles?

they are about 40 miles out of edmonton.....pretty much dead center between ardrossan and sherwood park.....they have a 350 yard outdoor range, and love it when i bring the .300 weatherby......so yes high powered rifles are a piece of cake.

Perfect....my .300 Sako barks nicely with my "special reloads".

Got a call fro Airdire revolver and pistol club.There fees are $85 a years.All calibers pistols allowed.Only rim fire rifles allowed..

check out the sherwood park fish and game site, should have all the information on there the old man and i are members, nice facility. and the price is right. i think its $100 for the year.

there is also a shooting range out by genise power plant not sure about contacts though..

Has anybody here been to Wild West in West Edmonton Mall? I have never been there and would like to try it out. Never shot anything other than a .22 and I don't own any. Are there prices fair.

From what I've been told by friends, its a fun place and all but it is pricey, depending on what you want to shoot.

Wild West good if you have a few dollar to spend.

Shooting ranges, good question.
I have just found one just outside of Red Deer to the south, the Red Deer Fish and Game club own that one,

There is talk about one just to the North, I am going to check that out tomorrow.

One of these days we should all get together for a Alberta annual shoot and smoke show.
