Got my traction bars on this weekend

Kev, thanks, but you don't have to. down the road we can do some wilder stuff, if you want. I just about have a new set of twins put together, but nothing that you can use.
I wanted a small set of twins for my 02 that are good for around 500rwhp but wickly fast on spool-up and I can use for towing/daily use. I can't wait to get my 09, so I can get that emission stuff off and build a set of twins for it.
A s475 would fit nicely under a VGT 6.7L turbo.

Just MHO here, been thinking about this for some time. Adding the bars. When the rear end compresses, it will shorten the distance and want to push the bars forward but they won't move forward. So then that motion is going to put pressure at the mounting point on the rear end = not good either. To me the best way would be to mount the front of the bars just like the 4 control arms on a 4x4, with four points, in simpler terms, a shackle on the front mount. Now the forward pressure of the traction bar, caused by the compression of the leaf springs on the back can actually go somewhere, but will this work for the intended purpose, controlling the axel wrap ? Otherwise I think the only option is to get rid of the leaf springs and go with coil overs, they will allow the rear end to move slightly forward or backward as the coils compress, just like the front end does on the 4x4 with the 4 control arms and coils.
That would be ideal,, but very expensive. In my case my truck basically does nothing but race, so these bars I have should work really good I think

I see that the Glacier Ladder/Traction bars are available again.

They do have the front "shackle/pivot" to prevent binding, polyurethane bushed also.
While these are a work of art (the price reflects that), there was some concensus when these 1st came out that these were great on the street for recreational towing
but not as effective as "solid" bars for drag racing & pulling.
Glacier stuff is very good.. I have the full Glacier Walbro system on my truck.

While these are a work of art (the price reflects that), there was some concensus when these 1st came out that these were great on the street for recreational towing
but not as effective as "solid" bars for drag racing & pulling.

I have the GDP traction bars and really like em'... Before they were Double X's, they were called strippers!!! For the quarter mile runs, though my truck has only ran the quarter mile twice, I love not having to replace U joints every few months...
Wink, your gonna have to build up one of those older 1/2tons, and put in a four link rear on set air bags. Of course its gonna be tubed and stuffed with the biggest baddest tires available.
And of course the moly cage is just for show

Any case its bigger/badder than the silver bullet on both the turbine disk and compressor impeller. The turbo shaft is heck a lot bigger, so you shouldn't snap it on a hard pass, but who knows....

Kev, I asked for a layoff for thursday, so after I go camping this on the long weekend, I'll be heading up, hopefully be there somwhere around the snacking hour (8pm) on Tuesday. Send me a list of what I need to pick up before I leave. Right now as it stands is headgasket, intake manifold gasket and injector washers.
I think that is all! I will keep you posted if I think of anything else! I should have everything else here or within easy reach. I am going to take as much time off as I can that week too.... good thing I am in tight with the boss eh
