Could be 2 things.. Zero boost stop adjustment and/or AFC Spring (Starwheel).

Who wants to take a stab at evaluating this?
Finally got this scanned as a "math problem" here in school..

4th gear pull nets 409hp, 5th gear 435hp.

So I got a better load on the engine in 5th and netted more..
Just thought I would get more with the HR 370's. Comparing it to the 2007 dyno run in 4th, I only gained 9 hp with the HR's.

Maybe pull the afc and see if it makes a big difference. Maybe it's holding me back?

Maybe a small boost leak, only hit 40 lbs max. I could try pressurizing the system and check for leaks.

Low fuel pressure? Check it with a guage at the fuel filter...

Maybe I need the 4g gsk.. Or a 100 plate...

Head gasket lowering hp cause it leaks a little coolant?

I was never pushing much smoke so either I'm getting plenty of air or no fuel....

Down the side of the scan I transcribed my boost vs rpm vs kmh vs egt from my poor man data aquisition.....

Ram4by, I would also hook-up a drive pressure gauge as well. It will help on tuning. Which turbo you running?

My trucks is almost purfect. I don't have too many truck mods planned for the summer. If you guys need a place to hangout and tweak, come on by. My project is in the garage and starting to come together slowly. Might have the twins pretty much mocked and tacked together up this weekend.

Almost have the camshaft selected and injection pump picked out.

Anybody have a spare intercooler that I can borrow for a few days.

Turbo's a B1 bomber ex 4 outlet.. Most say the B1's are a 62mm S300 that Ken Diaz tweeks in his shop. About a 65 turbine and around a 14cm exhaust though some say its hard to compare that number as it's a holset system.

Its just slightly bigger than a HX-40 (6 blade impeller, lots of different configurations). Do you know where the wastegate is set at? I would guess that its rated from 425 to 450 rwhp.

Running a single turbo and trying to get big boost out of it is difficult and have it survive. Most turbos don't like to be stalled under high boost situations which happens on almost every hard wot and then gear shift. At boost of 50+psi, your about 4.7 to 1 compression ratio. It rare to find a map that goes above 5 to 1 comp ratio. So that little turbo is spinning pretty fast. I tend to ramble at times.

I am hoping that this B1 as tough as it is refuted to be. I've read some guys have pushed them to 60psi.
This is the turbo that II copied to make their Pfat shaft series. Diaz came out with them in 2003...Supposed to be able to get 550hp out of it.
no wastegate..there's a plate over it.

from brcdieselperformance.com:
"The B1 turbo line is renowned for its toughness, and its ability to move a large amount of air for the compressor size. The B1 line is built from quality Schwitzer components using a large shaft diameter, at least 1mm larger than an HX40. The hub area extends out further, lending greater support to the turbine blades and the blades are zero balanced. The B1 hub also features a second oil groove on the hub, whose purpose is to sling oil and keep the bearing cooler. The B1 turbocharger bearings are of a much heavier build which allows better cushioning for the vibration of the shaft as it spins at high RPM."

I used to bark it once in a while but now i've learned to coordinate my shifts and don't anymore.

The B-1 Bomber has been around for a while.. Also known as Kwik Spools. Lots of high Hp made on those units.

With 4.10 rear ratios, I am not surprised that 5th gave more output. The turbo wouldn't spool fast enough on the rolls before you hit 3K.

I think with the stock AFC spring, you may not be getting full fuel out of it. I have modified my AFC for "full" travel as well as the spring kit.

thanks for the tip on the afc spring kit. I think you're also talking about grinding the barrel of the afc foot/diaphram washer swap. I'll have to do that...

My B1-2,14cm(wastegated @40PSI) used to bark like a bad dog,but now with the BD turbo guard dialed in its greatly reduced, but i can still stall it on high boost/fast shift with the 6 speed----pretty much know how to shift fast without the bark now.I had a Kwikspool version first, non gated,i was a little nervous about the drive pressure/size(11cm housing) so i sold it----2 month later the guy drop the seats out of the head towing heavy on vacation with it.This B1-2 i have now works for me,and was the flavor at the time, but 5+years later there are many more options to the consumer. This turbo still works for me with all my add-ons,Smarty,Mach 4's etc+(signature goodies).Cruise at highway is 700-750pre.My 2 cent/no flame or war intended..DW

How do you like that turbo gaurd? I've always been curious about it, but those things were rediculously expensive when I was looking at them.

No kidding, paid about $1000 installed and then spent about 6 months of tuning to get it dialed in.Works good now but probable pass next time, when it engages you can actually here a "PISST "when you shift. The B1 barks like a bad dog but a little schooling with the turbo guard and all is well.DW

Twins is easier than turbo guard. Dweiler your gonna put some miles on the minto ride of your and come to one of our gatherings. I would like to see your truck and do some drooling.

Dave, you still getting any fuel on the top end rpm band? Don't take away all the smoke as you still need some smoke to make power buddy.
