Crossed Over

Well, I've done it. Stepped into the 3rd generation realm. I'm half guilt ridden but ; time for a change. So, my '97 iron horse will be coming for sale. Anyone interested, PM me or 403-948-6332. It's a cryin' shame ain't it?

Is that why you've been so quiet lately Andy? Are you gonna be coming to the dyno day on the 8th?

How much are you looking for your truck?

Pat,
Long time. Got an '03 2500 quad cab 4x4 long box Laramie- only 18,000 miles. Texas truck. Looking forward to the smoother, quiet ride.
How are things up north? Do you ever get down here? Dyno day March 8th Edm.? Later.

Texas truck. If you don't mind me asking Andy, how hard was it to get back home? What are some good tips to buy from the US? There are so many nice trucks down there and NONE here...

US truck

It's really quite easy. Just find the truck you want and either go get it or have it shipped. You have to export it thru US customs, then import it into Canada.
Export-documents required; title, recall letter from dealer stating that all recalls have been done, bill of sale, and they need to look at the compliance sticker on the door jamb to match vin no. on documents. All this info must be faxed to the border 3 days prior to crossing.
Import- they check documents, fill out a "registration" form, pay them the gst, and pay them the RIV( registrar of imported vehicles )fee. Then you need to jump thru a couple of hoops in Canada before you can register it.
That's it. Simple. I'm going to pick up mine next week at the Coutts/Sweetgrass border crossing.
