Bed Liner
Any good shops to look at in the Calgary area to do some bedlining. I talked to Tyro Coatings today about my truck, and the price was a bit higher than I was expecting. I had my ranger done there many moons ago, and my mom has had both of her trucks done there, no complaints with the work. But if another option is available, I'd like to look at it. I'm not interested in DIY kits.

Tate...Line-X??...More than likely they are expensive also...I'm still happy with my Line-X liner...I went with the premium line-X...
That was a good 5 years ago...Curious what a premium line-X. now...It was $500 over 5 years ago..

Tate, I have tyro liner in my 2010 truck. I have areas that I have scrapped off the liner. My bed also has several dents and the front part of the bed is bowed out some. I prefer a wood liner or the plastic liner. I've had several trucks with spray in liners, its ok for light use. For most of us, we need more. The plastic liner is a pain, but seems to stand up well to abuse. My 02 has one. The truck has no dents in the bed, but the paint is worn in areas.
By the way happy belated birthday buddy.

I'll call Line-X tomorrow or Monday, whatever day they are open.
No dice on a wood or plastic liner. Ugly, trap water and scuff up the bed underneath. For what I do with my truck, a spray in will be just fine. Plus, I'm having the rockers and bumpers sprayed. I was quoted $1000 for the rockers (seems high), $400 per bumper (seems high) and $595 for the bed (seems reasonable). Then its an extra $300 for anything but black, then more for UV protection, and sand blasting, and, and, and and. Worked out to around $2700 for what I want, not including the blasting and UV protection. Considering my paint is gonna cost less than that, its a bit off putting.
Next question is what colour should I go with. I'm on the fence about silver, white to match, or the candy blue like my underhood parts. My concern with the white is yellowing.

From what I was told by a linex dealer here is you pay for the labour to tape off and cut the final product as well as prepping the surface for the spray. The actual spray is not that expensive its the time to set up. Probably why the bumpers might be allot cheaper if you take them off, don't have to worry about overspray.

let me know what you find tate i'll probably want to do some on my new truck it was one of my favorite (mods) on my last truck no rock chips and you can kick your rocker panels to get snow off boots without damage. and rust holes can be fixed with a piece of tape then spray haha

I would be in for a group buy. Between by self and my family we would need 3 box's done and 2-3 Rocker panels and a tailgate.
Right now I am leaning towards trying some DIY's but if we can get some good deals I am in for not doing the work.

Tate, if you choose line-x, there was a line-x place west of didsbury and slightly south. They did my wheel wells in '04. Fairly cheap.

I called Line-X today. Quoted me $650 for over the rail bed spray, $1275 for the rockers, $375 for the rear bumper and somewhere around $500-600 for the front bumper. I told him to just give me a grand total, he said $2800. Not including sand blasting. So they are comparable in price, but not what I was hoping. The Tyro guy is supposed to call me back, as the fella I talked to on Friday said they'd likely drop their prices a bit since I was getting so much done. Looks to be the way I will go. Now just to figure out the colour I want.
