Rear tire spacing

They stick out just under 2 inches (measuring from the top of the wheel well on the rear fender), and there is right at an inch in between the 2 back tires. The inside tire has about 3/4 inch in between it and the rear leaf springs. Some guys are putting a half inch spacer on the inside, but I think it sticks out too much and I haven't had any issues so far when towing or loaded down.

Just had to comment.... I saw the Benny Boyd Dodge on the mud flap and it brought back memories. I have made MANY trips to that dealership. For a small dealership they always had great prices and customer service! I sure miss home.

Hmm not too too bad. Might be able to get away with a set of 285/70's and that spacer. would give a little on both sides I think with the more narrow tire.

I put spacers on my last dually, which was a Ford. I had to drill the outside Alcoa rims slightly to accomodate the larger studs of the spacer, drill bit was included with the spacer purchase. In the end I wished I hadn't done the spacers as it presented headaches when I rotated my tires. I even had some tire shops refuse to work on my truck due to the spacers. This was in Austin, Tx by the way. Just wound up being more trouble than it was worth. Just my experience though.

I wish i had a picture of a guy here in town, he's got a dually mega cab, 6" lift 37-12.50-17. He told me a 2" spacer, deflated outside, 2 guys push on the tire while one guy tightens it down. Re-inflate and good to go. He says his ford dually same set up gave him no problems... I have no clue to this statement. Truck does look very good!!
