Ambient temperature sensor

Does any one know where to buy a replacement sensor? I think it's in the mirror on the 4th Gen. Although 140 degrees out in the dead of winter would be amazing I'd like to know what the temp is so I can drive safe.

On my 2012 it's right behind the grille beside the drivers side headlight. Mopar part number is 05149265AB and should be about 15 bucks.

On the 2014s they are in the mirror arm and I'm having a hard time finding the sensor almost like it's a dealer only.

Wasn't sure which truck you were looking for. The part number for the one in the mirror is 68138681AC and a quick google search found a bunch of websites and ebay listings for it. Perhaps a local parts place can cross reference it for you.

7 bucks from the dealer sad to see the 140 degree days gone in the dead of winter, now I'll just be cold. Ya think a bad out side temp sensor could be why my high idle quit working? Thinking it's been going for awhile think it's tied to the hvac Temps too.

Can't say for sure on the 14 but my 12 won't high idle on its own or pinch the exhaust brake unless it's actually cold outside. I can't see dodge changing that on the newer trucks, they must work together.

I've been bugging bully dog to include a high idle to the custom settings.

Is your truck an auto or manual trans? The automatic idle up to 1000 to warm up should happen on its own and can be enabled in the TIPM (Center stack on newer models?) if it doesn't. Also, if it's an auto, you can press the cruise control set button to enable the PTO high idle and use the accel/decel buttons to raise it up to 1500 manually. If that doesn't work, the dealer can also enable that for sure on a 14.

Mines a 6sp and it will occasionally highidle seems in the summer it will ramp up when the a/c is on but what I'm noticing is the park brake has to be set.

Yeah, mine is the hand shaker as well. My mini-maxx tuner does the high idle for me. Might be worth looking into the BD diesel box that plugs into the gas pedal if it's a feature you really want. I haven't tried one or heard any reviews but it seems simple enough.

If bully dog doesn't come through then definitely that thing would be the cats *** for idling up to jump tractors and heavy equipment, and to keep it from sooting up while sitting around in the summer.

Both the 2011 and 2013 idle up by themselves in the cold but you can set the cruise and idle up in any temperature. The high idle is not enough to prevent either of the trucks from sooting up.
