Regarding the fenders, those larger side encompassing fenders merely prevent one from getting up close to the bed to put something in from the side, hook up a 5th wheel, or easily check the load. I much prefer the fenders on the Megacab or first generation duallys. Additional, I have to assume that wreck repair for a bolt on fender is much easier and cheaper to repair then those bloated boxes mounted on all of the new duallys. Heck that's why Peterbilt puts bolt on fenders on the hoods of their trucks, easy repair and replacement.
